I'm in a similar boat, but I say just wait until you have enough cash to do a full upgrade. You can easily go to a Q6600, 8800GT, and 4GB DDR2 for under $800 (assuming you already have a case and decent PSU), and once all the new hardware is out the price will drop more. That's why I'm waiting...
