Is this a good deal on a notebook?

The rebate printed out with the receipt which mentioned the open box, so I don't believe there will be a problem. It carries the full warranty, so it's different than a refurbished item. Hopefully I won't have a problem, but if I do then I will be raising hell at the CompUSA.

Is this a good deal on a notebook?

On December 17th I was in Circuit City and saw an "open-box" Compaq Notebook on sale. It was a demo version that was put away for awhile until older demos sold and then put back out. The price was $839, but I talked the manager down to $739. There's also a $100 rebate for it, so the final...

17 inch LCD at staples $270 AC/AR ($240 if you can get a $50 CPN)

I sent the following email to Neso's tech support: I'm trying to understand the response time mentioned on http://www.nesousa.com/pdf/PIXO_700.pdf for the PIXO AT700S 17" LCD monitor. It says the reponse time is Tr/Tf=15/35ms. Can you explain what that means? Tr = rise time? Tf = fall time...

    File Associations - strange problem

Going through the file types is a pain. Using the method I described (highlight, shift key, right click, open with) is much easier. I still want someone to explain why now all image files change their association, but previously that didn't happen and what I can do to stop the grouping of...

    File Associations - strange problem

Previously, I never had a problem changing the individual associations. It was only recently. The method I described (highlight, shift, right click, open with) would always change the individual file type, not a group. You say by default, image files are grouped. Can this be changed? I...

    File Associations - strange problem

We have Windows NT 4.0 running at work and I've noticed a wierd problem lately. If I'm in Windows Explorer, lets say, and I highlight a jpg file, hold down the shift key, and right click, an option comes that says "open with". This is a way you can associate file types with a particular...

A7V133 bios update concerning a Geforce2 GTS and XP Processor

I currently have a 800MHz Duron on a A7V133 mobo and was thinking about buying an Athlon XP 1600 or 1700 to replace my Duron; however, I'm concerned about something. I've had success running with bios version 1004 (which I'm currently running), but ran into some problems when updating to later...

How would I capture steaming video?

Beachdog - I like that, but it's Bachdog. I had success with Snagit at home (Windows 98se) but it's been hit or miss at work (Windows NT). I don't know if the operating system has anything to do with it or the network but it's weird how sometimes the video doesn't get captured. Thanks for...

How would I capture steaming video?

Snag captures screen images. You can set it to capture your screen images to make a video for a presentation, but it doesn't capture streaming video. For instance, if I try to capture streaming video and put my cursor on the video, when I play it back it all I get is a black screen and the...

How would I capture steaming video?

Is there a way to capture streaming video in a web page so it can be saved as an avi or mpg file? For example, broadcast.yahoo.com has movies that it streams using Windows Media Player (that was my preference over Real Player) and I'm trying to capture the video. I've used a program called...

How can I capture Streaming Video

Is there a way to capture streaming video in a web page (or playing in windows media player, for example) so it can be saved as an avi or mpg file? I've used a program called flycap to capture streaming audio but the streaming video component only works with a webcam or other video input...
