(Gainward) Cardexpert Geforce2 GTS/400/64
(Gainward) Cardexpert Geforce2 PRO/400/64
What is the difference between these two cards. Visiting Gainwards website gave me nothing (really bad site, low on info), but a reseller site stated the GTS had 5ns mem, while the PRO had 5.5ns (and TV-out)...
I updated my BIOS last night and the highest available multiplier to be set manually is now x9.
With atleast two people here running fine on 133 FSB i'd say it safe to do so. If I can find a 800 or 850MHz PIII 100FSB for a good price I'll get that, else I'll go for the 1GHz.
Thanks all for...
<< You should update to the latest bios before you convince yourself that the BX6 (which is a newer, updated BH6) wont do a 10 clock multiplier... >>
I'll be sure to do that. Also managed to (finally) discover a few slot1 PIII still floating around. Even found one of those rare 1GHz (100 fsb)...
But then your running 100*8.5, didn't think that would be possible (since specs say 8 is highest multiplier). You sure it didn't force you down to 100*8 or something, if that at all is possible(?).
Seems like this mobo is more stable than Anandtech gave it credit for, this baby seems to run...
Oh OK thanks for clearing that up.
The PIII 1GHz at 100 fsb still is no option as the multiplier on the bx6rev2 only goes as high as x8. From what I've read there shouldn't be much problems with the AGP or PCI port on a BX6rev2 since the PCI may be devided 1/4 and the AGP 1/3 at 133mhz...
<< P3 1Ghz (100 fsb) >>
Eh eh sorry for being such a nuisance, just want it to work so, and don't want any uncertainties (if I can avoid them).
You meant "133 fsb" not "100 fsb", right? And you're saying it works with the bx6rev2?
MANY many thanks!
Baba
I'm also investigating the possibilities of placing a 1GHz PIII on a BX6rev2. I asked support at a local comp.store and they said it could work (as both the correct voltage and FSB where supported). But he didn't seem 100% sure. He said they could let me test it, if it didn't work I could return...
