Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Hey not it was not PSU. 750W was enough but upgraded to 1050W anyway. Everything runs awesome right now. Let me tell you what were the issues: 1) Not reinstalled system from previous Nvidia cards - that gave me the issue of one card running at full clocks and another one on 50-100 usage (most...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Well on the box they say that overvolting is as easy as pushing +/- button on cards. I will have to test it tomorrow. It needs some kind of VGA connection to motherboard in order to work. Never had matrix before, I have no idea how it works. MSI Afterburner shows empty space in mV for core. GPU...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

I didn't undervolted them, actually I'm trying at the moment but no matter what I set in GPU Tweak it's still at 1,2560V for CORE. As for CPU, yeah I think it might bottleneck it a little in BF3. Unreal benchmark don't use that much CPU and GPU usage for both stays at 90+ Levels. CPU temps are...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

OK, seems everything is magically solved after 2nd clean windows installation. Usage in BF3 is 90%+ Working on lower voltage now.

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

One more test, Valley Benchmark. With everything on default settings, just power target of 120%. Looks much better 90+% usage. CPU stays not overclocked, it might be bottlenecking cards a little as CPU usage was often 99%. 620W usage on full stress. Temp on top card was around 85 degrees but...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Just finished reinstalling and setting everything. Looks like the issue changed a little. Right now usage on both cards is synchronized, but it's never staying at top level of 90-99%, very jumpy. Right now will try undervolting the cards. +12V rail is in average 12,314 with max 12,408. Power...

Testings are going to be continued today. Right now I see two possibilities 1) 80 degree causing throttling 2) driver issues Will report back

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

I'm doing tests on BF3/Valley Benchmark. I'm currently waiting for other PSU to test. BTW. Found a person with same issue on other board but the guy used MSI card and they offered new firmware to fix the issue. I will attach usage screenshots when I'm ready with PSU.

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

ULPS disabled, +20% power set, will check if VRAM temps are sensors are present. I forgot about that extra connector on motherboard, will check that too. That is interesting, how do I turn off ultra low power state? Won't it get the cards hot in normal usage when the power isn't needed? Right...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Just finished testing in clean OS. Same thing, going around 80 deegres and drop to ~70% with choppy performance.

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Will try that too, right now I'm reinstall the whole system. Could you tell me what are your idle/full usage temps with this setup?

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

13.101 betta CF performance is average, cards utilization between 60-80% Actually played ~20-30minutes and difference between cards is MAX. 10 degrees. Summing up as for now 13.11 - the best performance, but one card GPU usage drop around 10-15minutes of playing 13.101 - average CF...

Asus Matrix r9 280X CF = nothing but the issues

Beta 13.11 played a couple of minutes in BF and it started to happen around 76 degrees with Voltage of 1.2000 and Power Limit +20%. Gonna install 13.10 betas right now. Already test single card setup and they are not defected it seems. EDIT: 13.10 drivers (it seems these are same as on ASUS...
