well i first removed the router and tried to d/l a file but still got an erorr, then i switched the cable and re-downloaded and still no luck. this other problem might be related but i think there might be a problem with my RAM slots because the system wont boot if i put my RAM in slots 1 or 2...

I have a cable connection provided by RCN. I also have a netgear wireless router connected for my laptop.

Whenever i download any large application (20MB or more) off the internet the files always give me some sort of CRC error or file corrupt message. I tried downloading 3Dmark03, 3Dmark2001, halflife patches, and all of them give me those errors. Even after deleting and downloading the same file...

I heard somehwere that instead of buying an adapter you could just turn the fan 45 degrees and screw it on with 2 screws. my question is if this will hinder performance in anyway, and if i should just stop being cheap and buy the damn adapter.
