I have a new MSI pro2a as well. Mine does not make a high piched noise -- It just locks up hard. The screen freezes, and neither ctrl-alt delete nor the power switch do anything. You have to press the reset button or unplug it. I happens most often when I am playing MP3s. I am pretty bummed...
