It is the power supply.. I just took mine out of my own computer and put it in there. and there are no problems whatsoever. I will tell him to look for one. any recommendations for a good, cheap one would be greatly appreciated

well, be that as it may, it dont matter, the motherboard is the same exact one i had before, and that one ran THIS processor fine, also, it would power without a CPU, which it did not..

the CPU power is not the problem -_- i had it working b4 with the same exact board.. he tried taking out everything but the ram, did not work.. no power... what next?

oh also, when the first motherboard went bad, by unplugging the CPU power, we could get the computer to power, but not POST, which is different from this case, wherein the computer does absolutely nothing.
