We were having this problem at work, and its been a while but I've got every dang windows machine to xp pro.
No more searching for those few xp home disks.
Time to suggest to the client to find their cd or to upgrade their OS.
I am pretty cautious about being excited for Vista.
With all the stupid DRM issues for gosh sakes, you will have to have crazy hardware to run it correctly (IIRC)
By the time it is out, Ubuntu will have an even better release out (off topic I know)

Generally Sony laptops can be a ah heck to track down battery life remaining. I reinstalled xp on one and never again did i get the battery life calibration working again.
