MSI Pro-E will Hr-05 Chipset coolers fit?

Thanks a lot, does it clear the cooler with a good margin, or just a minimal clearance? And the cooler doesn't obstruct the topmost PCIe1x-slot either?

MSI Pro-E will Hr-05 Chipset coolers fit?

I don't know how, its just the way it is :) It must be said that this is worst case, if i spin my CPU-fan more (usually iys at 600 rpm), and the room is less hot, the idle tempe is around 80. I have an antec p180.

MSI Pro-E will Hr-05 Chipset coolers fit?

I get crazy high IOH temps on my MSI Pro-E board, we are talking 110 C+ when the machine is fully loaded (no overclocking). I am thinking about adding a HR05-IFX an HR05-SLI cooler for the Northbridge and southbridge. So my question is, will the HR05-IFX fit this board? I have a Prolima...

3 monitor setup with two Vid-cards.

Ok, so in other words, if i set the main montor as the primary monitor, hook i to the 4890, and hook the left monitor to the same 4890, and buy a second monitor and hook the right monitor to that one. The 4890 will render games, as they are run on the main montor, the 4890 will also render aero...

3 monitor setup with two Vid-cards.

At the moment i have two 1600*1200 monitors. I am planning to get a 1920*1200 monitor to put in the middle. The only practical way to do this today seems to be having two video-cards. But i also want to game, and use other 3D-applications, so i am wondering how this will be handled in the...

    $850 Multipurpose PC

The 4850 also uses quite abit more power. And electrical noise from the computer can be a real problem affecting the onbaord sound, even today. On analogue outputs one can here noises when CPU or harddrive is loaded.

Need input on i7 920 build

Thanks a lot for input. I think the p 180 is a quiet case, it is pretty weel suited for builden a quiet machine. I have fan control equipment lying around from my previous build, so that should be no problem, although i think i might be going for speedfan this time aorund, as it adds...

Need input on i7 920 build

I am setting up a Core i7 build, my priorities are in this order: 1. Noise (should be more or less inaudible) 2. Stability, I want no problems, i want it to just work. 3 Multitasking, I usually have a lot of prgrams running. 4. Gaming, it will be used for gaming. I will not overclock...

Where to get flexible, long, angled s-ata cables?

They have a good selection of lengths and so on, but all the cables seem to be of the regular "flat" type, also the ones they say are flexible. In my experince those kinds of cables are not very flexible for sideways bending (i have 26 drives, so i have a lot of cables to route in my case, thats...

Where to get flexible, long, angled s-ata cables?

Thanks for some nice tips, i might consider one of the three first links, although the seem abit less flexible than the one i saw in the HP machine (very difficult to judge from pictures alone however). The HP and 3ware-ones are ML-cables, i just need regular sata-cables. AtW

Where to get flexible, long, angled s-ata cables?

Thanks for the tip, I have tried those though, and they aren't very long, and frankly not that flexible either, they are better then regular cables, but the ones in the HP was even better. I guess they would do the job if they where longer, but i would prefer them to be more flexible. AtW

Where to get flexible, long, angled s-ata cables?

I recently popped open a HP-workstation and saw a type of sata-cable I havent seen before, it was more flexible for sidewise bending, and it looked like it was composed of two smaller cables next to each other, insted of on flat and wide one. Almost like an unsplit phono-cable. It had...

    Which motherboard for fileserver?

THat might be, but I have no reason to suspect that at this moment, all I know is that quite a few mobos only support a graphic-card in their 16x-slots. And I want to get a mobo wich supports other types of cards. AtW

    Which motherboard for fileserver?

Well, not to go on a crazy rant here, but wasn't the whole point og PCIe to hav eone slot for all types of cards? Frankly I wish whoever is in charge of the standard would refuse to let mobo-makers label it as PCIe when its "locked" to only graphic-cards But thanks for the advice, do you have...

I am rebuilding my fileserver and I need some tips conserning the motherboard. I'm planning for a capacity of 28-32 disks, I have at the moment one areca 16-port PCIe8x-controller, I might get anther one, or I might Just use software-raid for the 12 additional disks. If I use software-raid I...
