    Antec P150: A Review

JeffMD: That was my initial thought, but the case is square as can be. Shipping damage is not evident. My point is that I feel the door could have been constructed better. The rest of the case is a marvel, which further accents the problems with the front door system. Too bad there wasn't an...

    Antec P150: A Review

Recently purchased a new computer, the case of choice being my first non Lian-Li case, the iPodish Antec P150. Was it a step backwards? It's all relative... The good: -Looks! I was unsure whether I would love it or hate it, but after seeing it in person, I definately love it. Pictures...

    New System Review!

Just to keep the ball rolling -BFG 7800GTX 256MB (worth it over the GT? Or shall I play the waiting game?) -AMD X2 3800+ (Is the 4200/4400 a worthy upgrade?) -OCZ 2GB Ram 2-3-2-5 (Good enough?) -Raptor 74GB (Worth it?) -WD 250-400GB HD of some sort -Antec Sonata 2 case (Is the PS...

    New System Review!

I take it that 2GB is the new standard these days? The 3800+ seems pretty awesome, but would it be stupid to mate it with a super high-end vid card? The 7800GTX seems pretty decent, could it handle 20" WS resolution with mostly high details? Don't know much about the X1900's, didn't the...

    New System Review!

Hey All! Been out of touch with computers for the last year (real life is so overrated) and as such I have no idea what sort of components are the ones to have. ATI, NV, AMD, OCZ, Etc... While I could do some research, I've also always wanted to start my own thread ;) I can always research the...

Celeron 300A @ 500MHz on what was one of the first jumperless mobos. It eventually died, I think it was because of the passive cooling :(

Why the PPU is a fantastic idea

Wait and see approach for me! (mad rhyme!) People definately have some lofty expectations for this PPU. Unless games can be designed to run decently with or without a PPU, and cheaply at that, I doubt Ageia will enjoy much success. But hey, people are willing to buy $500+ graphics cards so...

    Pioneer DVR-109 - BE AWARE!!

I agree with you there, it should work. How old are the drives? Perhaps you can RMA them or get in contact with Pioneer directly. It could be that the 109 just doesn't like certain media, which, while a PITA, is still a solvable problem. Hopefully you have some good luck with the verbatims...

    Pioneer DVR-109 - BE AWARE!!

I had this exact problem with my drive, but after I flashed to the newest firmware I have had no problems burning audio cds(z). The first couple burns using Maxell and Verbatim brands were unsuccessful before the flash. Since then I have burned both and haven't had any problems. Killer drive...

    Broken CPU Pin

Thanks for the help everyone! Chances are it will work, although I no longer have any S478 mobos. I might try out that motherboard repair website or put it on ebay. remagavon: make me an offer? :)

    Broken CPU Pin

If you can't make it out clearly, the broken pin is the outermost pin on a corner of the CPU. Broken Pin Now that I think of it, I did come across a website that repaired broken pins on CPUs, but I will have to do some digging to find it. Edit: Thanks for the PDF. I think the broken ping...

    Broken CPU Pin

So I've had a Pentium 4 3.2E S478 CPU sitting here for several months with a broken pin. It was pulled from a system and one of the outermost pins was snapped right off. I guess my question is, should this CPU be thrown in the trash? Is there any way to repair it? Do people buy CPUs with broken...

    Suggestions for a micro/HTPC case

I'm in the same boat as you. I plan on upgrading to a dual-core machine sometime in the fall and transfering my current system into a file server/HTPC. I think Ahanix makes some of the nicest HTPC cases I have ever seen. The MCE301 looks promising, but only accepts low-pro PCI slots...
