Ok!
Just to update, I got a 4 pin HDD power connector to 4-pin P-4 connector (square connector introduced by P4) - essentially to make my 20 pin 250W PSU an equivalent of 24-pin 250W PSU.
I think I have made all the connections correctly.
When I press the power button on my case, the...
From your response it seems that 250W should be enough to run Sempron - although it would be good to have a 350W PSU.
I would really like to re-use the old PSU if possible. Is there an adapter of any kind which would convert say a HDD power connector to 4 pin 12 volt CPU power connector...
Am trying to salvage my old chassis (some box) and power supply (250W).
Got Biostar NF325-A7 socket 754 based board with a Sempron 3400+ for free (both brand new).
I installed the board and CPU in my old box and connected the 250W PSU (it only has a 20-pin connector which connects to...

I have all the files that usually come on an installation disk for xp 64 copied onto the hard disk. From these files, I want to create an installation DVD.
How can I go about this process?
Can I just burn all the files onto a DVD? I think this will not be an installable DVD. Can...
I have not flashed the bios in ages on this one. It is an old Athlon XP (Socket 754) based ASU motherboard.
Just to update:
1) It is not the wireless adapter driver problem. The MB has 2 US ports and one has the wireless plugged in while the other has my webcam. Both working fine.
2) Now if...
Hi
I had an old PIII Dell system from which I am moving to another old Athlon XP system. My USB wireless adapter (some Netgear) was working fine with my old Pentium. But now I am trying to install it onto the Athlon based system, I get a system reboot everytime I plug it in.
Infact, I...

I want to buy a new system purely for internet/email/photoshop/blogging/ and my old 733 MHz pentium now feels really slow. Am looking for a cheap solution where I can just upgrade the MoBo, CPU, PSU and recycle all the remaining components from my old Pentium. The following deal on Tigerdirect...
Hi All
I have an age old Dell system (733 MHz) bought from Dell (model L733r) which I do not use any more. But I would like to recycle the chassis and upgrade it to AM2 based Athlon64.

Hi,
I just got a USB2.0 to IDE driver for my laptop hard disk which I am planning to use as a USB storage device with my desktop.
The adapter that I bought from Fry's came with a drive disk - the model is GL811E. I installed the driver, with some error - "Copy file error !", although after...
Hi,
I have put together my system and it has been running fine. But I never paid attention to how I am connecting my storage devices when I built it. I have 2 hard disks (one system, one data) and 2 optical drives (CD/RW DVD ROM and DVD RW). Current configuration is as follows:

Just built a new system based on Athlon64 X2 4200+ . Video card is ATI X800GTO.
I was looking at some macromedia flash based graphics / games, and they are running very very slow on my X2 4200+ compared to the Athlon XP-M laptop (with some ATI graphics card).
Any possible reasons?
