Thanks in advance. You guys always give me great advice quickly.
Problem:
Yesterday I was running my Dell PC. Downloading, copying, deleting, playing MP3s, everything that a normal computer does. This morning, before school I loaded up Nero images and did a couple of burns to my MiniDisc for...
Ok I checked the office, and in there is a 4 port hub, not a router. Now, each computer connected to the hub has its own ip that looks like this:
10.2.102.67
10.2.102.114
I'm assuming one of the ports has a crossover cable coming from the wall port connecting to the building network...
Kamper, at home our router (yes I'm sure) assigns each computer ip 192.168.0.x so I never assumed anything like a subnet and such.
Well I did my research but I could not see what the hardware is because that office is locked. Forgive me for the not-so-smart posts. I looked around and saw none...
well I need all computers to be able to exchange files back and forth, and one computer will be a local ftp server as well. I have no experience with hubs or switches, as I have used only routers.
So, should the print server be on the 3 port router? I would setup one port on the 3p router to accept the printer port #. Then all computers on the 3p router has easy access, and if I assign the printer location to lets say 192.168.0.2 on the 8p router, it should automatically go to the...
Alright here is a strange scenario. One room has a 3 port router. I'm gonna order an 8 port router. One of the port in the 8 port will have a print server connected. 7 free ports, one will have the old 3 port router plugged in.
So, the computers hooked into the 3 port router also need access...
that website sure helped. I look at the different iMacs. The iMacs that accept 168 pin RAMs have 133mHz listed. So I guess I will order those from Newegg. Part # checked and all.
I would order from Crucial seperately but they don't accept checks. Thanks a lot, guys.
BTW, that unbuffered/ECC...
bump. please help me out here, this is important for me to know. It wouldn't be so good for me if I put some RAM on the order and we cannot use it.
Thanks in advance
I looked at what RAM this iMac uses. On it, it said "100mhz" but I don't see it on newegg. Was I reading the right thing? This iMac is really old, with only 64 mb right now. What should I do? I don't want to order from the apple store because of beaurocracy I have to get through to buy from...
I need to buy some equipment for both Macs and PCs. I know that Macs would take RAM that PCs would take. But what about other stuff like mice? Some external drives and such don't list Mac OS X as supported OSes. So I'm wondering if I need to consider that when buying something like a mouse...
There seems to be so many. Even though they are all fairly cheap and priced near the same, which one gives you guys the best performance and are reliable? 3 ports is not neccessary, 2 is enough.
what if the sound clips are unaltered files such as wav? I'm thinking it will barely pull through.
Are there PCMCIA cards with two USB2.0 ports? what about firewire?
thanks in advance
I have a hp ze4145 laptop. 1.2 gHz AMD AthlonXP with 480 MB RAM.
I am using an M-Audio Ozone which is a 24bit/192kHz soundcard/MIDI controller. Can I use this while my laptop has a USB 1.1 external hard drive?
A typical scenario: I am running Ableton Live 3. The little indicator shows about...
