What heat sink and fan are you using now? What's the ambient temperature like? What's your motherboard and what program (and version) are you using to get results? Do you have any case fans in your computer and if so, how are they set up?

SLK-800 ($45) with a cheap $5 80mm case fan. You will NOT regret it! SLK-800 is one of the top heat sinks.

Yeah, heh. To say the least, I'm very impressed <grins> I have the fan blowing air onto the heat sink. I also swapped the 50cfm fan with I think a 38cfm and the only performance loss I noticed was a few more degrees of heat under load. Seems like the HS is what does all the work here.

Unfortunately, I think I spent 30 on mine. I was looking around for parts for my new computer and went with an AMD specified one without doing all that much research into heat sinks and fans.

Welp, got in my SLK-800 today :) I'm currently using a Volcano 6cu+ with a 5000rpm 60mm fan on it. I also think I put a little bit too much AS3 on the core. I'll be putting an 80mm 50cfm Sunon on and I'll let you all know the drop in temperature. I'll probably then test it with an 80mm 32cfm...
