MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G Graphics Card $299.99 or $289.99 AR

Amazon has the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card on sale for $299.99 which is the lowest price I have seen on this card for a while. Additionally there is a $10.00 rebate until 7/31/15 which brings the price down to $289.99 Since the item cost is over $35.00 you'll get free S&H, however you might be...

First time builder SATA cable question

It's funny you say that as I started wondering if my MB comes with any so I checked and sure enough it will have 4. So I plan to measure them and see the fit and then I can decide if I want to buy aftermarket cables.

First time builder SATA cable question

This is such a simple question but I've never built a computer so I have a good excuse :P So I'm using the Thermaltake V41 case and ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Professional MB for my first build and I had a question about the type and length of the SATA cables I should use. I will be installing a...

Can someone explain refresh rates vs fps.. confused!

So if I were to purchase a monitor capble of 144hz, I would never have to worry about ghosting, tearing, v-sync, g-sync etc. and the only limitation would become my system (more so GPU + CPU), right?

Can someone explain refresh rates vs fps.. confused!

Not sure where to start so here it goes. So say you have a 1080p 60hz monitor, new i7 CPU and a GTX 970 and you're playing a 15 year old game, like UT 99 :) and it shows you're getting 120 FPS. 1.So since I have a 60hz monitor does that mean I am visually not seeing more than 60fps...

Feedback on my first build - mfenn would be proud :)

ahhh I see what you mean! On another note I checked out a few pc builders like Falcoln NW, ecollegepc, Puget Systems, Digital Storm, Origin PC etc. and the closest one was $1400 and still did not provide the same value in components, meaning a few of my parts were superior at a lower price...

Feedback on my first build - mfenn would be proud :)

This makes me wonder... My build is currently hovering around $1230. Can I buy the same components from an aftermarket pc builder for less? And when I say same, I don't mean similar, I mean exactly the same. I don't want no junk Dell computer with the same spec for $499 that will break...

Feedback on my first build - mfenn would be proud :)

Another thing that really disappointed me about radeon was the lack of driver support. No matter how much you sugar coat the cards, the huge gap between driver updates makes baby Jesus cry! Not to mention an architecture that has been recycled 3 times now, slapped with an X and resold for a...

Feedback on my first build - mfenn would be proud :)

I took your recommendation on the thermal paste, last time I used thermal paste was 10 years go. As for skylake, I typically like to wait until the product has matured and the manufactures give the consumer plenty of option. That takes time, atleast 6 month, so if I wait it won't be just 2...

Feedback on my first build - mfenn would be proud :)

The main reason for this post is to get feedbak on my build that I have created in pcpartpicker. This is my first build ever. My first computer was the 386sx running at 33hz with a floppy drive. use google if you have never heard of those parts :) I have done alot of reading over the years...

    I need a game suggestion.

I want a game where you upgrade your stats, armor etc...kind of like Diablo. I have a crappy laptop so it can't handle high graphic games, it can handle Diablo II just fine lol I don't care if it's an old game, actually I want it to be old as I don't like all the fancy complicated new...

Any reason to buy Atom N280 over N270

That does look good drizek but how do the two cup's compare? I couldn't find any side by side comparison. These netbook cup's are slow as it is so dropping from 1.66mhz to 1.2 is a huge step backwards, even though the amd runs on 800mhz memory, it's not enough to make up for the cpu difference.

Any reason to buy Atom N280 over N270

So what's the verdict? I believe they are the same and I never recall a little fsb making any "noticeable" difference when doing everyday work. anyone disagree or would go with the N280?

Any reason to buy Atom N280 over N270

I'm aware of the basic difference 1.6 vs 1.66 533fsb vs. 677 Other then this minor difference, is there any reason why someone buying a new netbook would want to go with the N280 processor as oppose to the N270?
