i know...i was all set to order and then I had to hold off for a bit on the full build. I did get the 8500 on a good combo deal with the ud3p...basically for the same price as I could get the 8400.
newegg screwed me on the videocard. Ordered a 512M twice...and both times they sent me a...
Gents,
This is what I have come up with:
Antec 900
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
E8500
MSI 4850 512M
Corsair CMPSU-520HX
4GB G.Skill PI Black (2x2GB)
640GB HD (Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS)
LG 22x DVD+/-R Model GH22LS30-OEM
XIGMATEK HDT-S963
What do you think?
ok...you guys have effectively convinced me to buy a new PSU...unlike advice from another site I won't mention that starts with a T and ends with ware.
Anyway, given the fact that I am probably in the market for ~550 watt PSU - are there ones that are modular and would fit my need for a...
Pardon my naivete as this is the first time I have done this, but does the s1283 need a fan to work effectively?...or is it a matter of unhooking the fan, looking at your temps, and then deciding if it is needed? If fanless is a legit option, then the Vendettas should be highly ranked as well...
The Xigmatek S1283 is too loud, so unfortunately I can' go with that one. What about the Rosewill RCX-Z775-EX?
Here is its listing on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835200026
I must be one of the lucky ones...haven't had anything but great performance from it....but what you are saying is that 500W should cover my new system and that if the PSU fails it can destroy other parts of the system as well???
Hey all,
First time builder. Scoping the forums to see what kind of cooler to throw onto my proc. I've obviously never done it before, so I am looking for something that:
1) fits in my case & mobo
2) is not too difficult to install
3) is relatively quiet
4) <$50, although cheaper is...
Hey all,
I am buying a new rig with the following specs:
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
E8500
Aftermarket cooler (particulars yet to be decided)
MSI 4850 512M video card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127370
G.Skill PI 4 black 4GB DDR2 800...
Forgive me, but I am a relative noob who is also looking at these two boards, plus the ds3l.
What is the difference b/w the P5Q Pro and the UD3R? The specs say that the P5Q Pro has less supported memory at a little lower slower speed (1233+ v 800) and 2 fewer USB slots, but has one more...
Thanks for the input thus far, think I've narrowed it down a bit:
Here are the three cases I am currently considering (unless someone else has a better one in mind):
Thermaltake Armor+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811133062
Coolermaster Mystique RC632S-KKN1GP...
thanks for the insights thus far. leaning towards a 4870/GTX 260, but still looking for a specific brand of one of those that comes cool and quiet out of the box. in my current rig I have an x800xl and the fan on that is twice as loud as the case fans.
Looking for a cool & quiet card for gaming (Crysis, FC2) and a little video editing on a 22" display w/ max resolution of 1680x1050 (or whatever it is) for my new rig (E8400 proc).
Was looking at a 4870/4850 but I know they natively run hot/loud...anyone know of a good card that comes with an...
Gents,
Looking for recs for a case with the specs as in the title. Looking for a miracle case here. I am short on space under my desk and unfortunately these are the limits I have. I was wondering if all of the new cards are 10.5" long...if so I may be out of luck. Also plan to OC the...
Thanks DSF for pointing me in the right direction...just read the sticky - has a lot of great info in there. Still undecided about Intel v AMD, but thus far have decided that if I do go Intel it'll be on a P45 board. Debating on the Q6600 v E8400/8500. I read somewhere in my research that the...
