growing up there was a kid I knew who said Sal-man. He only ever said it once, but after that me and some friends said it a couple times to make fun of him. Somehow that stuck with me and still do this day (about 15 years later) sometimes sal-man slips out of my mouth unintentionally.

Yes, it's designed to look like an upright sign-board from the specific angle of the central broadcast camera. Seen from any other angle/camera it'll be either not be visible at all or severely stretched and unreadable.
