So a friend gave me his computer to fix and tells me he installed windows XP Pro over the existing Windows XP Home OS. Is there a way to bring it back to XP Home without formatting the HD?
Got the 2600+ OEM/ECS N2U400-A last week for $80. Debating over returning it and getting this or keeping it. Anyone know which will overclock better or will they be more or less the same?
I'm putting together a system with a 1.6Ghz Duron w/ ECS K7VTA3 mobo from Fry's. I ordered the SVC GC69 to use on this rig and ran into a problem when I was putting in the RAM. The clip from the GC69 blocks for the first DIMM slot and I was wondering if it's possible to run with an empty DIMM1...
Microcenter has it for $55.99 (pg 14 of current ad)

Looks like a possible PM opportunity if you have a B&M close by or can get CC to PM to the online price.

Comments about the noise have been inconclusive... How does it compare with the 420w turbolink/channel well psu's... I'm trying to replace it without spending too much money. Anyone have experience with both?
I'm not sure where to put the thermal probe and it's pretty loud right now running at full speed. I have a 1800+ right now and used arctic silver 3... Should it be under the heatsink on top of the cpu like the directions say or placed somewhere else? Thanks.
I just put together a new comp. 1800+ xp w/ gigabyte ga-7vrxp, 512mb pc2700 samsung ram, and a 120gb WD special edition HD. I'm running on windows XP pro and the most i could partition was 111GB. I was wondering if that was normal or is there some problem I don't know about? This is my first...
