I had a very similar problem with my computer. I have a 1GHz, A7V rev 1.02 1005D BIOS setup. What I found was that the virtual memory handling in Windows whether 98, Me, or 2000 doesn't do a good job. My experience was that I could boot up for about 2 min before everything locked up. Try...
