Which BIOS version did you flash it with?
I had issues after flashing my Infinity Ultra but that is only because my BIOS settings were reverting to default. After changing a few BIOS settings I was up and running again.
I remember LOSING MY SATA boot when I cleared my CMOS. Crazy stuff but...
As an incentive, I will give a cookie to anyone that can help me!!
Any cookie you want! A sugar cookie? Chocolate chip? Any kind... I'll make it even!
I'm just really frustrated and can't figure this out. *sigh :(
If you haven't changed anything in the BIOS and you get the error message than it's likely another device aside from the motherboard. The simplest thing to do is swap parts until you can eliminate the culprit.
A BEEP with no post is much better than NO BEEP with no post. The Beep likely...
The Culprits:
Athlon XP Mobile 2400+ (11 x 200) @ 1.675 V
DFI Infinity Ultra (Latest BIOS)
4 x Corsair Value Select PC3200 (DDR400)
Ok, this is a wierd one.
I have four memory modules, all memtest86 passed and work at full speed (DDR400). In other motherboards, I have no issue (at least...
Tested 3 Athlon XP Mobile 2400+ (s) and can only achieve 2200 Mhz stable. (without increasing FSB because my mobo is very unstable above 200).
See if you can pinpoint the culprit!
Antec TruePower 480 Watt
Asus A7N8X-X (latest rev)
2 x Corsair Value Select DDR400 (PC3200)
(My board does not...
Well, this is the big question I'm wondering.
Logically the 800 FSB seems to be more efficient at communicating with the BUS than a 400 FSB. So, is it really better? And by how much?
You know, I'm going to be honest.
I was able to install Windows XP Pro on my P2 266Mhz with 32MB ram and a 3.2 GB Hard Drive.
I expect the same from longhorn :)
That's so cool! You'd think a lot of companies spend thousands or tens of thousands of dollars in designing a "silent" keyboard so that they can market some kind of leap in technology and then people design programs that revert us back to horse and carriage!
I love this world. :)
I wish you could have the option for the clicky-clicky sound on a modern keyboard.
Maybe offer it as a little switch on the side that you could switch on and off as you please.
Yay, next biggest breakthrough in bleeding edge hardware brewing here!! :D
WOW, I used to have one of those. If I knew that I could sell it for $75 today (vintage 1988) I would have kept it around.
ACTUALLY, I might have it in the basement somewhere. But I'd have to check. I'll take a screenie if I find it!
Whee!
