    Set "water=3", that should enable VTF. FPS went into the single digits on the 6800GT i had then.

    I run LCD too, but it's a non-dvi one, so no "digital panel properties" for me. Does it mean in your case that you can run 1280x1024 with black borders on a 1600x1200 LCD? (even if the osd of the LCD doesn't support this?)
