    Tape Automator down, seeking advice.

Good suggestion. I also found these guys down in Los Angeles area: http://www.pacificdatastorage.com/ They offered to fix the drive for $595 which is $25 less than what Dell offered to extend the warranty (then took it back because the drive was broken). Dell wanted to fix it for $2800...

Computer won't boot even after replacing parts

Unplug system, press power button for 4-8 seconds, plug back in, try powering on again. If nothing, hold power button again for 4-8 seconds, release and press again. Could be your mobo isn't posting or whatever. You have the power LED hooked up? Does it turn on? Hope you didn't disconnect...

    Tape Automator down, seeking advice.

So I work for a small business (about 75 employees) and we have a server and a Dell Powervault 122T tape automated backup (1 drive, 8 slots, system loads and unloads tapes automatically so we keep a 8 day backup without having to think about it), and I went to check on the system the other day...

    Geeks has XBox360 premium for $299 w/code

only reason it's an "alarming rate" is because the Internet is... well the Internet. I'm sure XBox1, PS2, PS1, DC, Saturn, Jaguar, you get the picture had similar failure rates, even if it is a high failure, it's still a cool system.

DVD Burner making coasters with new mobo/vid.

Update, I put the DVD-r in an older system, burned a couple discs, no errors. I'm guessing it's the motherboard (ECS nForce-754A), last time I ever buy a new motherboard to support an old CPU and a new video card. Gonna save my $$$ for a couple weeks and try to buy a new motherboard/CPU...

DVD Burner making coasters with new mobo/vid.

My computer has 1 hard drive, 2 cd roms, a floppy, a 7800 gt, and that's it. Forget the power supply, but it's a SLI certified enermax, power readings underload are within tolerances. IDE cable is from an old system (not too old, but it's one of those striped and made circular ribbon cables)...

DVD Burner making coasters with new mobo/vid.

I've had a NEC-3500AG burner for a while probably burned less that 50 DVDs on it, never had a problem, occasionally had a coaster, but that was because I started messing around and almost expected it to happen. Recently I wanted to upgrade to a 7800GT PCIe video card, so I swapped my DFI...

    overburning a DVD?

According to most forums FAQs over at doom9.org, you cannot overburn a DVD, only CDs (at this time). The hardware/software isn't capible of it.

New PSU, Enermax EG565P-VE, odd hookup?

Is that right? I hooked up this PSU, been playing EQ2 for a while, but just installed WoW and getting weird lockups, they suggested it could be the RAM, NIC, or possibly a head issue. So I find a copy of Speed fan to read the temp/stats off my ECS nForce4-A754, and my +12v rail is reporting only...

    Oblivion technical support needed

This probably won't help at all, were using DELL XPS systems at the office, me and a buddy are playing oblivion on the same systems, he crashes all the time, I don't. If you stop to think about it for a second, Oblivion is a pretty "graphic intense" game, it's also on it's first version and...

    New 7800GT + Enermax EG465P-VE Power Supply

Update for you Stevty: Yes, it was the power supply, I went to Frys and found an open box Enermax 535w (can't recall the model number, but came with a big green storage bag for all my computer crap, nice) at a reasonable price, installed it, had to make some adjustments on the PCIe plugs (one...

    Razer Diamondback mouse issue, ARGH!

If your mouse is plugged into an external USB connection, like some LCD monitors have unpowered USB ports on them, my Microsoft Natural keyboard has USB ports that I use for my mouse, if you're using something like that try plugging the mouse into the USB ports on your motherboard. Sounds...

    New 7800GT + Enermax EG465P-VE Power Supply

I saw this over at the "Extreme overclocking forums" from one of the PSU guides... The (20 pin only) was a nice bright red, any chance this could indicate an incompatibility or something? link to article

    New 7800GT + Enermax EG465P-VE Power Supply

THanks for the response Stevty... Yes, I've tried different lines from the PSU with the 2 molexes, tried every combination I can come up with. Yes, I tried unplugging everything but the video card (no drives) to see if I could get it to power on and post. and yes the 4pin 12v connector is...
