Definitely the 5900 no questions asked. In fact if the 5900XTs were available here already in my country and costs the same as a 9600xt (they still cost around $300 here), I'd buy it instead of my Radeon...
Definitely.
When I upgraded from a Radeon 9100 to a Radeon 9600 Pro, I was actually able to run at higher resolutions (from 800x600 with low-medium details to 1024x768 with almost everything on plus 4xAA and 4xAF) with most of my games (KoTOR, POP, GTA:VC, etc).
Thanks for the heads up Bartokomus :)
I downloaded the patch last night but I still needed to turn off hardware mouse cursor in order to prevent the game from locking up... I wonder if the recently released Cat 3.10 solves this issue...
I think the Radoen 9600 series is quite a good overclocker, but it dosen't always apply (I've got a friend who bought a Powercolor Radoen 9600 Pro Bravo who could only overclock his core to 467, but the memory overclocks pretty good tough).
I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro at...
Thanks guys for your responses. :)
I was actually able to get it up to 526/303 last night and played Halo with all options on at 800x600 and it worked without a hitch - no artifacting, lockups, etc whatsoever. I've got to say that ATI did a nice job with the 9600...
... now if KoTOR would...
I was thinking that it might be possible to flash the bios or something which might allow higher speeds, but the OC was good enough for me I guess..
Thanks again!! :)
Hi guys!!
I got a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis which I've been able to OC from 400 to 513 core at stock cooling (I didn't touch the memory since it was rated at 3.3ns so I left it at 303).
My question is, how much more can I push my card, or have I already pushed the limits of the core...
With all the talk of 5900NUs priced at $200 and how envious I am of you people in the US (5900NUs are still priced at $350 here in the Philippines), I just heard rumors that XFX 5900 cards are going to be available in my country within the week and there's a possibility that the 5900NU will be...
So far, here in my country (Philippines), no retail shops still have the 9600XT (or the 5700U for that matter) available in stock. It's mostly independent retailers that import the card into country. The only brands available so far are Powercolor and Sapphire. As far as I know, only the...
But it's not in all parts of the world that the FX5900 is selling at $200 - in my country, a Geforce FX 5900NU actually still costs $360 and that's $160 more than I'd like to spend. the only good cards in the $200 price range here are the 9600Pros/XTs and probably the FX5700U when it comes out...
Thanks guys!!
I guess I'll probably do an upgrade of the PSU. But with regards to my card choices, in my country the FX5900NU is still priced at around $360 which makes it out of my budget. The only cards right now in my budget are the 9600xt and the FX5700U.
Hi guys!!
I'm thinking of getting a 5700U as an upgrade to my Radeon 9100 and I was wondering if anyone here has a rough idea of how much power (watts) this card needs? I've only got a 250W PSU and while I think I'm not really maxxing out in terms of power usage, it's better to be safe than...
