This wouldn't normally be a hot deal, but since there is a shortage of of $229 dollar 512mb cards on dell and best buy, this isn't that bad.
Argh.. Dell shipped the slower 8800GTS after I cancelled. I'm thinking about just keeping this card.. this is getting to be way too much of a headache. Of course i still have to call customer service using the case number given to me to get a discount applied to the order so this will...
Thanks for the info.. i just sent an email to cancel the 8800GTS (i checked some charts on tomshardware and it confirms that it is about 20% slower in Crysis and I already returned an 8600GT that was too slow so i want all the video card i can get for the money).
OK.. so mine was delayed until 1/24. After talking to everyone I could at Dell, I found a guy from Dell Home that sold me the 320MB 8800GTS for 309.99 and gave me a case number. He told me to call customer service when i get the card to get a $89 credit to my credit card.
sounds shadey...
Went to best buy last night and bought Crysis. The sign said 49.99 now. At the register it rang up at 59.99. I bought a bunch of junk and didn't realize it until i got home.. now i have to go back and try to get them to fix it .. i hate best buy (but not as much as bestbuy.com).
