WIP: Karaktu's (and Zap's!) Unofficial Guide to mobile Celeron overclocking success!

HHahahhaah finally got the MSI 845E MAX2-LR mortherboard to work! It POST no problem with the Mobile Celeron 1.8GHz I have. As I said in a previous post, it was a really weird problem where the POST code would keep on looping between the chipset and mempry check. I check all the caps but they...

Yeah yeah I see the black plastic your talking about. Its the bottom part of the socket. Thats a pretty weird defect.

Arrrr that kinda sucks. The only black plastic I see underneath the board's zip socket are the retention bracket clips? I also looked at my ECS PT800CE-A and notice that is has 9 OST 3300uF 6.3v capacitors just like the ECS P4VXMD. OST is known to make faulty capacitors so I'm going to keep an...

Hello, I got each of these boards to POST with a Mobile Celeron 1.8GHz model SL6J4. I did not test their overclocking abilities too much. - ASUS motherboard P4G533-LA REV1.02 (Comes froms a HP Pavilion 533W starting with MX serial #) - Recognizes CPU as a Intel Pentium 4 1.8GHz...

From what I see on the picture, the white pin is the second down on the left. I would personally suggest just trying the processor on the board before bending the pin and then bend it if it doesn't go. Nope haven't tried that mobo out but I'm pretty sure it will work since Karaktu...

Yeah unfortunately no go. At least if the POST code stayed at one number it would be easy to diagnose.

A Viking DDR PC2700 512MB. I also tried a Samsung DDR PC2100 512MB stick but with the same POST code syndrom as the Viking.

Yeah the right pin is bent. I wonder if the board is dead. It was only $15 even though the person claimed it worked lol. We'll see I guesss. I would really like this to work. The prob the board is having is that the post sequence keeps on going in a loop. I have one of the POST code cards and it...

Hello, I just finished sanding my penny and used it with the processor. It still won't post. I will try to get a normal celeron or p4 to see if the board will at least post with that. I'm also getting another three p4 motherboard to play with soon so I'll see if the mobile celeron works with...

Yeah, the contact is alright but not as much as it should be. I guess its time to make that penny I've been saving into a mean lean copper slug. I'll try it out and see what happens.

Hey, check this out! A board that claims it support mobile P4s! It also has ISA slots lol. http://www.portwell.com/embedded/PEB-7702G2A.htm

Hello all, I was wondering if any of you have tried a Mobile Celeron with a Intel 845E chipset based motherboard? I have a 1.8Ghz Mobile Celeron (SL6J4) and a MSI 845E Max2-LR and it just doesn't want to POST at all. I tried the bent pin trick and still no go. Thanks for any info you...
