Discussion Intel Nova Lake in H2-2026: Discussion Threads

On this slide it is >1.1x for ST which can be interpreted that single thread performance will increase above 10% or will be at least 10% higher.

    Damn. The only reference point is Skylake + L2 256KB - 217 million transistors and CypressCove(SunnyCove) + L2 512KB - 300 million transistors.

Is there anyone who can estimate approximately how many transistors are in L2, e.g. Skylake 256KB, Sunny/CypressCove 512KB, GldenCove 1.25MB-2MB, LionCove 3MB?

Where did you get the information that PantherCove has a cluster decoder?

Is it true that ArrowLake no longer has a ring bus? That it uses mesh entirely?

Higher quality image of the ArrowLake structure. You can finally see the details of the LionCove and Skymont core logic.

NovaLace is supposedly CuguarCove from what the P-Core engineer said recently. As for NovaLake, I assumed it was a new core but I wasn't sure about PantherLake but I also suspected it was something like LionCove or its improvement.

Question for 100 points. Is PantherLake a new core or slightly improved or the same as LionCove? Is NovaLake a different core than the one in Panther? Good question.

LionCove has a very good L2 and a pretty good L1-1.5-D subsystem. Maybe L1.5-D could be a bit better but it's not bad. L3 is a nightmare. If the same team that did the LionCove core took on L3 it would be a lot better. Are there any sources stating which parts of ArrowLake were designed by...

So LionCove+L2 was designed by one team and L3 by another?
