DFI Infinity P965 due to hit U.S. shores in 8-10 days

Hmmm... From the picture it looks like 16x PCI-E slots each have power mosfets / transformers right next to the slot? Also, CPU area is well stuffed too. This board looks promising...

    *** Official ASUS P5B / P5B Deluxe Thread ***

Hello, I have a weired problem with my P5B. I am trying to boot my plain-vanilla P5B from the USB CD drive with no success... That is a new rig and I was hoping to install OS from the USB CD drive. However, I can't see my USB CD drive in BIOS, nor do I see it when I press F8 during...

    Best 945P MB for overclocking

Chris, after seeing that link, I should say get that Giga board and let us know :) Really, I would also be interested to know if any 945 board could go up to 350MHz FSB... So take that Giga over Asus P5LD2. In fact, I am myself have Asus P5LD2 and also Asus P5LD2-VM boards, but mines are...

    Best 945P MB for overclocking

As I remember from reading this forum/articles, people only managed to get about 317 MHz FSB maximum out of 945P-based boards. That would only give you 2219 MHz CPU clock frequency. I guess you are trying to put together a budget system? For a budget system, take a look at AsRock 945P...

Which to get... Biostar TForce6100-939 or MSI K8NGM2-FID - 939?

with MSI board + X2 3800 your maximum CPU clock is going to be 2.5 GHz, because MSI BIOS would only allow you to increase HTT Speed up to 250MHz... So 250 * 10x multi of your CPU = 2.5 GHz with Biostar board - it is 6100 chipset, so I guess it is 100Mbit LAN, not a GbLAN like MSI's 6150...

    BEST Core 2 Mobo( P5B! Deluxe\750w) compatible with DX10????

If you have E6300 or E6400 CPU then it looks like you would be better off with P965 chipset based boards. Currently most popular are: Asus P5B, Gigabyte DS3 (there are also Deluxe version of Asus and few more versions of Gigabyte P965 boards) If your CPU of choice is E6600 or higher...

Seeking "intelligence" about the ASUS P5WDG2-WS Professional

What I have recently seen at XtremeSystems is some pictures of exactly this board running Kensfield ES CPU, quite heavily OCed ... Posted by Coolaler. So we know for sure this board is capable of running Kensfield CPU.

Adding 512 Megs to my 1 G Dual channel setup

I think tornadog meant he would be adding 2 x 256 sticks in order to keep dual channel. However because of 4 sticks, and depending on the mobo, be ready to lose: A) most likely you will lose 1T timing and will have to run with 2T timings. It is not often when 4 sticks are running at 1T...

Cheapo Solution AMD AM2 X2 or Intel 805 OC?

Hey Mango1970, if you are in Toronto you should be able to get 939 x2 for about $175 CAD and AM2 x2 for about $170 CAD. Not sure what kind of $210 CAD "deals" you have mentioned. At the end of August, I got AM2 X2 for $159 CAD each. Now they have upped a price a little bit for "back to...

    Server Mobo for E660

Take a look at these two boards. They both have ECC/nonECC memory support, and both of them have 8 SATA connectors from 2 raid controllers, and I beleive 2xGbLAN. They dont have an on-board video, so you'll have to stick some PCI video card into PCI slot. Also Asus has 2 PCI-X slots so you...

    Budget AM2 board

Captane, just out of curiosity, could you take a look what PCB version is your MSI K9N Platinum? They said it is printed in between PCI slots. It should say something like "MS-7250 VER 2.x". People who had "... VER 1.x" board were not affected by "shutdowns" issue. I just wonder what PCB...
