    4th Annual Tax Thread - 2006

If I have $20,000 in qualified tuition and expenses from a Form 1098-T, can I use 10,000 (max for lifetime credit) under Lifetime Education Credit and use another 4,000 (max for education expenses) under the deduction for qualified tuition and related expenses?

Anybody score successfully on the GMATS?

The don't overstudy rule applies for the GMAT. I studied hard and got a 670 and wasn't happy but didn't have time so I took it a few months later and scored a 710. Just get familiar with the format and take it relaxed.

For those of you who travel for work...

At work for me, any meal being reimbursed for less than $25 bucks can be done so without a receipt. So ... I'm sure people spend 10 bucks and just book 20 and pocket the extra cash. I would say $25 bucks for dinner is plenty for most people in most cities.

    YA Roth 401k T

We have our 401k through Fidelity and I think I can change my contribution % whenever I want. I think it's 0-60% of my salary so that was what I was thinking about doing. I was thinking of funding my 6% of my yearly salary early on.
