Thanks for your reply. I had noticed your comment and I am possibly going out of my depth here, but why does a BIOS update require a re-install of windows on a non-Raid disk? Could a mbr fix sort this? Certainly interested to know for future reference! Many thanks.
Have the same problem as owenBau, used the 4379 version as yourself which enabled me to get past the "BIOS recognising the HD's problem", but then it wouldn't recognise my windows installation at all, even after taking out the extra 1TB drive leaving only one drive in the PC. Got the message...
