Correct.
I'd flashed my BIOS last week.
And I hoped I could overclock more.
But 1.5 does not make any difference :(
And actually, I got around 300 points LESS in 3DMark06 :S
Read my previous posts on the previous page.
Also read the posts of Planatoid.
With this board, we just can't have a stable overclock at 3.0Ghz.
The only stable overclock I can find, is at 3.15Ghz.
The settings are also given in my previous posts.
Today, I spend a few hours overclocking again :)
I've found out that FSB from 1600 - 1649 is NOT bootable!
FSB at 1650 is bootable again!
I can even boot 1650 with a multiplyer of 9 and my Q6600 will run at 3.7Ghz :)
But it is NOT stable :(
With these settings (most stable), I can...
That's great fortress :)
Good to hear that my findings can help you too :D
The G0 is indeed much cooler than the B3 (read in a lot of forums).
But my case is also very hot, because of my 2 8800Ultra's.
These things are producing 70 celcius easily!!!
I already got a 12CM fan exhaust...
THnx :)
BTW, I've also contacted MSI support.
They keep repeating this line:
So they keep telling NOT to overclock... damn.
Just develop a good BIOS!!! :(
Anyway, my temps are indeed high when heavy loaded.
I made a typo, on idle, my temps are around 50 Celcius (hottest core 51)...
Guys!
I'm soooooooooooo happy!!!
I've FINALLY found a stable overclock with my Q6600 B3.
100% for sure!!!
See my previous posts, FSB 1333 just doesn't work for me.
Multiplayer 8 also NOT.
I got it running stable now with these settings:
Q6600 B3 VID 1.2750 2.4Ghz @ 3.15Ghz...
yeah I've tried the timings to 4-4-4-12 2T with 1.8 Volt (it's max)
No better results :(
I'm sure it's not a driver BSOD.
Because when NOT overclocked, my PC will run as long as I want to without BSOD's.
Any other causes you can think of?
See my previous post.
The settings I mentioned was the most stable one for me.
It boots fine and Windows Vista 32bit runs fine.
But I still get randomly BSOD's :(
(sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 5 hours, and etc.)
I really tried almost every possible setting in my BIOS...
---------
edit (so if you're reading this. I did NOT find a stable configuration)
----------
Damn, still blue screens :(
Guess I can't overclock with this board...
---------------
Moederbord: MSI P6N Sli Platinum (BIOS version 1.4)
CPU: Q6600 B3, VID: 1.2750
Overclock: 3.0Ghz
-...
WHAT THE HELL!!!
I'm beginning to get crazy with this board!!
3.2Ghz just don't work.
I think I've tried every possible setting!
It just won't boot! (black screen, no post, also not if I wait a few minutes and reset)
3.0Ghz (1333 x 9) works.
But like I said before, it will give...
Thnx Platanoid,
I'll try your settings when I get home after my work.
About the Post thing, I got exactly the same problem when I go for 3.2Ghz!!
(with the reboot and won't go further than post with the first boot).
Pretty weird.
I hope they'll fix this with a new BIOS update or...
That didn't work.
But I guess I found the solution.
I had my NB set to 1.45 en VTT% on 4%
I've changed it to:
NB: 1.3
VTT%: 6%
And it seems to boot fin now.
Don't know why this works, but it works so far :)
But I do get Blue Screens once in three hours or so...
I have a Q6600 with this board.
The best I can do is overclock till 3Ghz.
It runs pretty stable.
But when I do that, my systems reboots it's self after "post" several times before it gets into Windows!
When finally Windows loaded, everything works fine!
Ran Prime95 stable for 3 hours...
