[seekingalpha] AMD Responds To Kaveri Delay Rumors - "on track for 2013"

So much for AMD's PR department: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20130807231051_AMD_Confirms_Delay_of_Kaveri_Chip_to_Early_2014.html From the article: "Advanced Micro Devices has confirmed that its highly-anticipated Kaveri accelerated processing unit that will features a number of...

Is my ASUS 660 Ti OC faulty? VERY Low min FPS in Batman AC

I can also confirm that DX11 is "broken". With 670 + 460 1GB as PhysX, all maxed, I got lot of stuttering ingame. I tried lot of combinations (for hours, stupid out of game settings and long intro ) and these are my observations: 1) Dx11 + Physx High - stutterfest (even if I turn down...

    Low fps gtx660 ? Help !

Have you thought about overclocking? It could give solid boost for free (or cheap, depending on cooler).

    Low fps gtx660 ? Help !

It's the CPU not the GPU. WoW can be really CPU intensive especially in towns, raids and areas with lots of people. And your i5 is so much better in WoW, or games generally. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/188?vs=363 -> Third from bottom. New GPU will allow him to crank settings up, but...

Vid card/monitor/game forces 24p@1080, unplayable please help!!

I have the same problem with Prince of Persia and Panasonic plasma Tv. My guess is that it chooses the lowest supported refresh rate. I have read that solution is to delete every refresh rate/resolution mode in CP except the one you want to use. Let me know if it works ;)

Latest Guild Wars 2 GPU Performance Data

I think, the last beta drivers (>month old at this point) should be used for GW2, at least I read it somewhere. I'm using them and have zero issues with my OCed 460 at 1920*1200 maxed with just shadows dropped down one or two steps.

"Sony's Thermal Conductive Sheet Expected to Replace Thermal Grease"

Exactly, the typical "out of factory, never going to be opened" stuff, where they use some el cheapo but long lasting TIM, the same that Intel uses with IB.

"Sony's Thermal Conductive Sheet Expected to Replace Thermal Grease"

I don't have problem believing that it is better than stuff they use normally, but it is nowhere near the "enthusiast" class TIM we use, like AS5, NT-H1 etc.

    Video card oven trick WORKED

I would say it's pretty common. Still I'm sure there are people that never heard about it. Did it twice to my NB graphics, that notebook was practically indestructible zombiebook, which I kept repairing and repairing. In the end it looked pretty sick :D

    AMD's FirePro w9000/w8000 review thread.

How come? I see them performing pretty good for last gen. Generally they are either first, or second in benchmarks where AMD's new card work really well. Sometimes they fall off with lots of AA, but I can imagine they could be used for any of the tested software. That doesn't mean there...

    AMD's FirePro w9000/w8000 review thread.

While this is true, if you look at Quadro, it is able to get pretty consistent results everywhere. Of course where Firepro is working it is faster, but it better be, because it's new tech on new process. I hope AMD get their stuff together, because before end of the year GK110 based quadro...

    AMD's FirePro w9000/w8000 review thread.

And again, the performance is all over the place. Either it wins (sometimes by a lot) or it loses badly. We all know the potential is there, but the results sometimes are, and sometimes aren't. From the article:

Delidded my i7-3770K, loaded temperatures drop by 20°C at 4.7GHz

Not sure about that. Thermal conductivity of copper is ~400 W/(m·K), aluminum is ~250 W/(m·K). For example cured AS5 (whis is better than what intel uses in IB) is 8.7 W/(m·K), so really IHS is mainly just about protecting the die. IHS could help with heat dissipation if you had improperly...

Delidded my i7-3770K, loaded temperatures drop by 20°C at 4.7GHz

I would say, this could be true, if you were running w/o heatsink. But if you install heatsink on top of bare die it will act exactly as IHS, only the temps will be better, because it doesn't have to go through two more layers of "insulation" (tim under IHS and IHS itself). Unless there are big...

    AMD's FirePro w9000/w8000 review thread.

I'm not comparing AMD/Nvidia... I just remember all those threads "still no WHQL driver for GCN" for some it doesn't matter if it's WHQL or not, for some it does. But enough beating dead horse, you see it just as another nvidia fanboys "teh AMD makez crappy driverz", I was just talking real...
