Many HDD manufacturers count a gigabyte as 1000,000,000 bytes - if you do the math, you come up with the above mentioned figure (the OS will use 1024 for a KB).

On some forum I saw a post saying that one could apply transparent nail polish on the keys, and it would last for a bit till re-application was needed. Maybe its worth trying in your case.
Speaking of which, has anyone used the Logitech G11 keyboard? Do its keys fade out? I think the...
I've been looking and looking and looking - Powersafe (L&C) 500W is 15A+15A on 12V rails. The Coolermaster 600W PSU is available in mumbai for a fair bit more - does anyone have experience with it? Thanks.
@Keelysam : I have a 7900GS at present, but would want to upgrade to an 8800 or such...
Thanks for the replies everyone. My problem is that only low quality PSUs are available where I live (Ahmedabad - India). They try to pass off 200 and 300W PSU's as 500 and 600W (you can tell by looking at the specs - under 15 - 20A on the +12V). The low end companies have horrid quality and I...
I'd posted a few days ago regarding whether a L&C / powersafe 500W power supply was enough to power an E4300 C2D, 7900GS based computer. Now, Antec is obviously a much better brand and I might be able to get hold of an Antec case with 350W Antec power supply. What I'd like to know is that will...
I am in the process of upgrading to a C2D and 7900GS card. I gave my old AGP Geforce 256 to a friend who seems to be happy with it. Its been over 6 years now that I had the card, I'm sure he could do with something better (like a 4400 for example :P ) . I think it has many more years of life in...
Sorry for the bump,
If someone would be so kind as to assist, as I need to make a purchase this week, and I don't want to buy something that is not suitable. I think that I might be able to get hold of a Coolermaster 600W power supply (but that's much more expensive) - any ideas about that one...
Hello everyone,
I bought a PNY 7900 GS. It comes with a split type connector i.e one end has 6 pins that fit on the video card and there are two ends that are molex (will connect to the SMPS). Do I need to connect both of those molex connectors...
If it can do such complex GI, it should be awesome with 3D rendering (max, maya etc) where radiosity is handled by the CPU, perhaps it can be offloaded to the GPU for greater speed in rendering.
QueBert : I guess I won't be upgrading the system for a couple of years at least. Its a budget limitation, therefore was wondering if an X2 3600 would do well down the road. If not, what is the next best option.
Chrismr : I don't plan on multiplayer. If it can play current games at the native...
Hello everyone. I have been looking at benchmarks etc, and was wondering if a 7900 GS was enough to power current games on a 22" widescreen monitor. Also, would it fit in well with a budget AMD X2 3600 build? Thanks.
Some Soviet Russia jokes rock, if you can't stomach 1 line of 'humour', skip over it when you see Soviet in the words. Doesn't take much time. Keep the jokes coming (and weed out the bad ones)
In Soviet Russia, you have polls to feed the trolls - In the land of capitalism, Googer trolls you...
Hello,
you probably need a 3 way 3.5 mm to 3 RCA cable that plugs into the subwoofer out.... (total 3 bands)..... so front left and front right - stereo to two RCA cable..... rear left and rear right - stereo to two RCA cable and for the subwoofer, Front Centre and Rear Centre, 3 way 3.5mm to 3...
Hello there everyone.
I'm a bit of a computer nerd. I live in India, so I don't have the opportunities to experiment like you guys do and the equipment is much more expensive over here as well.
Now, my question for you guys is that one of my friends wants a system on a budget. Normally I'd...
