When are keyboard or screen hooks legitimate?

I recently installed Snoop Free Privacy Shield on my computer, and it reported both Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Acrobat as applications that were requesting access to the screen and/or keyboard. Are there instances where these requests are legitimate, or do I have a keylogger lurking on my system?

Frequent Blue Screen Crashes - No Pattern

I didn't remove the cooling system, but I did connect the pump to a separate PSU, so the pump was taking no power from the rest of the computer. The crashes continue at about the same rate. If anyone has suggestions on how to proceed, I'd very much appreciate it.

Frequent Blue Screen Crashes - No Pattern

My computer was running fine until I installed an Asetek Waterchill watercooling system in my machine a few months ago. The cooler chills the CPU, GPU and Northbridge chips and runs a 12V pump that is powered by the PSU. Also uses a duel 120 mm radiator and has a USB connection to the MB for...

Gigabyte 6800GT Heatpipe Fan Falling Apart

Thanks for the suggestions, but I was hoping to keep the heatsink and just replace the fan. I haven't had any luck finding a replacement that matches the 3 bracket mounting style. If I have to replace the whole heatsink and fan assembly, I'll just go to liquid cooling.

    Need Liquid Cooling System Recommendation

I'm looking for a complete liquid cooling system that will allow me to cool my CPU, GPU, and Northbridge. I have a Athlon socket 939 chip, a Gigabyte 6800 GT video card, and a standard size Northbridge on an ABIT MB. I prefer an all-in-one cooling solution, or at least a system that provides...

Gigabyte 6800GT Heatpipe Fan Falling Apart

I have a Gigabyte 6800GT with the heatpipe heatsink and the fan on top. It's always been a noisy setup, but otherwise performs just fine. A week ago I noticed that the noise level increased and changed in pitch. Today, it suddenly got much louder and sounded like it was about the grind to...

    HDD not recognized?

I had the same problem with my SATA drivers a short while ago. I had to scrounge up floppy drive to load my drivers, but it did the trick. You might also want to make sure you set your BIOS to recognize USB mouse and keyboard, in case you have them.

Antec TruePower Conflict w/ AV8 MB

Just tought I'd pass this info along. The older Antec TruePower PSU's have a problem working with AV8 motherboards. I have an Abit AV8 that goes into a repeating boot loop. I contacted Antec, and this is what they said: Hi Alan, That is a known issue with the Abit AV8 motherboard...

    new puter wont boot

Is your CPU the new 90 nm Winchester core? If so, you probably need a BIOS update from MSI. Check out this link. http://forums.anandtech.com/me...53&highlight_key=y

no respond to Monitor with new equipment.help plz

If they send you a chip puller, you'r eone up on me. Abit didn't even send me instructions, the cheap bastards. MSI should send you a new chip. Abit at least did that for me.

    Computer Hates New Video Card

Well, I was skeptical about the memory voltage, but it seems to have done the trick. I found the BIOS setting, and increased it from 2.65 to 2.8. Then I installed Doom 3 and Wolfienstien ET and played both for hours. Not so much as a hiccup. The system seems very stable now. Based on a...

    Computer Hates New Video Card

I hadn't really given much thought to tinkering with the voltage or timings of the memory. How should I make the setting changes? Should I use the Guru utility that came with the motherboard, or change the settings some other way? BIOS?

no respond to Monitor with new equipment.help plz

When I was having the problem, I got nothing. No beeps, no useful POST codes, not a thing. I don't even think my hard drives spun. Your BIOS chip probably has a printed code that has version information either on the chip or near the chip. My Abit AV8 had a sticker right next to the socket...
