My modem is showing 2688 Kbps / 864 Kbps. I live in an urban center. I can definitely try calling Verizon, but if the problem persists I fear they'll give the run-around.
Connected direct, experiencing intermittent disconnects. I had contacted Verizon with this problem before and they sent me a new modem. Should I get back in touch with them or am I better of switching to Comcast?
The disconnects are very intermittent, so it's hard to test for what's going on. I had one happen a few minutes when my wireless house phone rang, but I'm not using a wireless connection for my PC. I'm not downloading any torrents at all. Got 2 pcs and my Iphone on the network.
I'm not sure...
I'm using a 1-year old Linksys WRT110 with a Verizon residential DSL setup, using ethernet only at this time. I experience intermittent disconnects, where I end up disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable to get back online. I can't figure out if it's my router or the ISP that's the...
Thanks. Had to dig around but wasn't hard to find. The exact option was "Enable USB Keyboard". Strange thing is that keyboard worked to get into the BIOS (Del), but I'm sure there's a standard reason for that which I'm not aware of.
Hello.
Trying to install Win 7. Bios set to boot from CD drive first. Startup asks to hit key to boot off cd. I can't hit key and computer boots into existing install on HD.
Looks like it doesn't like my USB keyboard, and I don't have a USB one laying around. Workarounds?
Thank you.
Hi there. I'm completely new to hackintoshing, and I'm just idly wondering if the Shuttle XPC SX58H7 is a possible hackintosh, and if anyone has attempted to hack it. I know that it's quite possibly incompatible, and more than likely untested, but it makes for an interesting dream. :)

Hello. I have a bit of a weird issue with my computer, and I'll try give the backstory to be clear on what happened.
I had an old IDE HD with a XP install. I bought a new Velociraptor HD, and put Windows 7 beta 64 bit on it. For some reason, the HD with the Windows 7 install wasn't a...
Thanks for your reply. Looks like I'll try the USB stick method. Off to Staples!
Mizugori - The problem for me is that my current OS is 32 bit, and the installer for Windows 7 is 64 bit.
I've downloaded the Windows 7 64-bit version with the hopes of mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools and installing it on an empty partition. It appears that because my current operating system is 32 bit, I can't run the installer in windows. Is there any way of installing Win 7 without buying a...
Within the next 1 or 2 months Apple should have all new Macbooks and MBP's, which should be significant improvement if you can wait that long. If you can't wait that long, the basic is probably fine, although you might want to check them out in store to figure out if you want a matte or glossy...
I have an EVGA 133-K8-NF41-AX motherboard. When I used a bootable cd (Bart PE) I was able to use both the mouse and keyboard fine (PS/2).
Currently I'm using this machine with a new HD and a fresh install of windows, with full mouse and keyboard support. I can access all data on my old HD...
My HD is fine, and I'm wondering how the utility above can help me in my situation. Is it at all similar to Bart PE? I downloaded and burned it, but wasn't sure what to do with it after I used it to book.
Thanks again for keeping up with me...
