Windows Server 2003 & Intel Application Accelerator

Hello, I recently installed Windows Server 2003 and some hardware drivers, namely the chipset INF and ATI video drivers (after enabling DirectX). This seemed go well. I also installed the Intel Application Accelerator RAID edition as I was installing the O.S. on a RAID 0 array. At this point...

    Incompatible RAID controller?

MonkeyDriveExpress: Yes, I've ruled that out. I used one set of Adaptec SATA cables I had, then used the original red Intel cables, then used the blue Adaptec cables that came with the SATA PCI card. I ruled that out on Thursday at 2.45am. :-) Thanks for the idea though.

    Incompatible RAID controller?

With the Adaptec card, I setup only a RAID 0 array and everything went fine. Granted, I didn't setup a RAID 1 with the Adaptec card. I tried installing XP on a single drive, then installing the IAAR once XP was installed and migrating. Once it successfully migrated and tried to boot into...

    Incompatible RAID controller?

UPDATE. I setup a RAID 1 array instead, something I hadn't tried. So naturally I had a 33.5GB disk after creating the array. I went through the process of installing XP, the first part. After booting (the point where the BIOS would give me the Disk Read Error message), I seen this on the...

    Incompatible RAID controller?

That's true, but why did the Seagate SATA HDDs work with this board before, in RAID 0? Or is it possible the board has developed a fault with its RAID 0 functionality, without it being used?

    Incompatible RAID controller?

Recently as some may have read, I have been having trouble getting XP to boot onto a RAID 0 array, using the onboard RAID controller on my Intel D875PBZ motherboard (ICH5-R). I have two SATA Western Digital (WD) Raptor 36GB drives, hooked up to the Serial ATA ports of my motherboard. I created...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

JEFF7: Here are the results from AIDA SMART: http://advntntn.home.att.net/aida_smart.gif --- VIPER96720: Yes. When XP wanted to boot, I did this: a) Removed the floppy b) Went into the BIOS, set "Intel RaptorRAID" (just a name I gave it) as the first boot device and set the Plextor burner...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

Yes, I'm on BIOS P16, which as of last night at 3am (yes, been up late every night/morning trying to get this to work), was the latest BIOS for the Intel 875PBZ. FYI: I called Intel again (after paying my $25) and after being disconnected from their India call center about 20 million times...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

Unfortunately, I don't have another PC. I sorely wish I did. I did run a surface scan on them using WD's Life Guard DOS tool. Even although they are Serial ATA drives, I'm surprised their DOS tool found the drives. The DOS tool found them fault-free, they passed the test, both drives. I put...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

Thanks for the information. I've tried all that. I successfully got up to step (7) on your list, but when Windows XP would reboot, it came back with: "A Disk Read Error has Occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart" The RAID 0 array will not boot the O.S. I've tried a lot to get it to boot...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

I thought of that already. According to Western Digital, just before they started pointing the finger at Intel, they told me two out of the four jumpers aren't used (OPT1, OPT2). The remaining two determine whether Power Management is on or off, and by default, the drives are shipped with it...

"A disk read error has occurred" ?!

I have installed two Western Digital Raptor 36GB drives on a test machine. They are connected via Serial ATA cables to an Intel 875PBZ motherboard. Intel RAID is enabled. I have setup a RAID 0 array with 128Kb stripe. Basically, I go through this sequence: a) XP boots off the CD drive b) I...
