Building a new system and what to get.

Thanks, I did indeed mean the video card, but from my understanding the 6600gt's don't really need them.

Will that PSU handle PCI-e alright? I'm still a bit green on these.

    MSI NF4 w/ AMD 3200+?

I was looking at the MSI NF4 boards, and noticed on their website that they have the following information: CPU ? Supports Socket 939 for AMD® Athlon? 64FX/64 processor ? Supports 3500+, 3800+ Athlon 64FX 53, FX55 or higher CPU Please pardon my ignorance, but I was looking at...

my first DIY - advice needed for newbie

Personally, I feel that if you are not going to be gaming, I wouldn't spend the extra on a PCI-e. You could build a really nice budget machine when you don't have to worry too much about gaming. Your set up looked nice. I'd go ahead and get 1gig of ram as it can never hurt if you use things...

    Dell inspiron 8600????

Not sure what you mean exactly, I assume you don't mean the normal 'f2' during bootup?

Monarch's 3500+ 90nm price is sky high! Why???

3200+ was $203.00 on the 17th and today it is $216.00...keeps going up! =)

Should I start buying my parts now as I find them?

Its strange, at ZZF, the corsair value ram has gone up 30.00 and the 3200+ has gone up 16.00 in 2 days. I know it always goes down over time but sheesh, a small spring in price the past couple of days =). Overall I'd agree, prices do go down over time hehe

Help me build a $1500 gaming PC

Just to throw some sticks on the fire, its an individual's personal choice on what to spend on their next PC. If they want to spend 700, great...if they want to spend 7,000, great. No need to say they are silly for spending that much.

    First Gaming Rig Build

Well 2k is a healthy budget. If I were you, I'd stray away from the SLI model unless you really plan on using it. I'd stick with an NF4 board (comes out Friday), spend your money on a quality video card, eVGA, LeadTek, BFG 6800 GT or Ultra PCI-e and go from there. You look like you have done...

    Which 939 mb to get.

You did mention it had to have AGP right? I really think a lot of people enjoy their MSI: 139.99 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...jsp?ProductCode=241143

    First Gaming Rig Build

Do you have a budget going on? There are a lot of threads out there...mainly the big argument will be do you really need SLI? Here is a not SLI PCI-e model: Note the MB doesn't come out until Friday and it sounds like you may have a bit higher of a budget to get the 6800 GT or Ultra. I...
