I've been running small jobs all evening and the neither of the VR temps has gone above 51. @ericlp thanks for the additional details. Maybe I'll be looking at a custom loop this fall if the tax gods are smiling on me. Thanks for the input everyone!

Thanks for the replies. I primarily use Cinema4D and VRay, and (at least according to HWiNFO) all threads are running at 100%. I ran Cinebench R15 and saw the same behavior, so I guess that's the way it is? Seems kind of strange to me, but then again I make pictures for a living, not design...
