A Print server would be a good ideal though as it would allow you to print from your PC or Mac at anytime as the print server would always be "on", where as if you had the printer attached to the PC or Mac you would have to make sure that the computer with the printer attached was on all the time.

Just a thought. Have any of the file extensions changed? .doc .txt etc.... If the files do not show there extensions the goto: Tools - Folder options - View - then uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types". Like i said i was just a tought and you've probaly already thought of it...
