Athlon 1400 reboots at shutdown

I think you're thinking of the dreded Win98 shutdown bug, where your system would hang at shutdown. My system doesn't do that. It does shutdown. The prob here is that it immediatly reboots. Thanks anyway

    Athlon 1400 reboots at shutdown

That was one of the first things I checked. All my connections are correct. Beining to think it is psu related. Gotta double check the specs on my Enermax. Seems like the important rating is the 5v + 3.3V spec. When I bought it I figgured 350 Watts would be enough for anything. But that was...

    Athlon 1400 reboots at shutdown

Hi, my problem is this: whenever I shutdown my computer through windows ME, it just reboots. Windows ME shuts down and the system just starts up again. I click "Start" => "Shutdown" => "Shutdown", and everything seems fine, but the next thing I know, there's my video card bios on my screen and...

CUSL2-C restarts instead of shutting down..any ideas?

I have the same prob with my CUSL2-C. Only happens when I overclock though. Try setting your CPU back to its rated speed (only for a little while) and see what happens. This has to be a BIOS issue, hopefully this will be fixed in the next BIOS release.

Is there anything bad to say about the voodoo 5500 against the radeon or Geforce2 GTS?

Hmmm ... where to start. What a crappy time this is to buy a new vid card. IMO, no card on the market right now has all the bases covered, you're gonna sacrifice something. the Geforce is undeniably the fastest card on the market. The drivers are good, stability and compatability is good...

    Win2k problem

You know your OS is secure when it won't let you recover any data after it gets blown away. Try booting off the Win2K install CD and run a repair. It that don't work you can use a second hard disk to install Windows. Hook up your old hard disk (with win 2K on it) as slave and copy the data...

What video card should I get?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but, are there not problems with Geforce cards and super 7 motherboards. I remember reading somewhere that the the AGP slot has trouble delivering enough power to many Nvidea cards.

Card Decisions Voodo 550, Creative 256 DDR Annihilator Pro or ASUS V6600 Geforce Pure/Deluxe?

You shouldn't be afraid of the V5 letting you down on the performance side, and especially not on the visual side. V5 has plenty of power and eye candy for the current generation of games. I can honestly say that I've never seen games look so good as when they were running on my V5. Crossing...

    Hard time installing win98Se

I know what you mean Thor. Those were heady days all right. You had some real bragging rights if you could set up a computer in the days of DOS and Win31. No Plug n Play, you had to set irq's and dma's with jumpers, and god help you if you created a conflict. You had to load all your drivers...

    Hard time installing win98Se

First of all, standard procedure for installing Win9X is to copy the entire contents of the win9x directory on the CD to your Hard disk. You should always run setup from your hard disk. Why is your CD-Rom acting up? It could just be old and tired, your disk could be dirty, the lense for the...

    Asus cusl2 please help

Dude, don't panic. CUSL2 has a problem with not using the onboard video card. You obviiously got into the bios to shut off the onboard video so you could use your voodoo 3. I've seen this happen to several CUSL2 boards. You have to short out the jumpers that reset the BIOS to default. Connect...

    Networking Question...

the sad fact is that you're sharing your limitted bandwidth with your parrents. The more they use the internet , the less bandwidth is available for you. I have to ask, what the heck are they doing on the internet that is slowing you down so much? You could try upgrading your cheap hub to a...
