The recently launched OS for handheld Apple devices, the iOS 12 has been an instant hit with Apple users. However, since in its nascent stage there are some minor glitches which still needs to be wrapped up. So while you wait for the update from Apple, you need to know how to fix these issues.

One of them is apps getting blocked from automatic update even though the device is connected to a wi-fi connection. If you are facing this issue then follow the steps below and it should be resolved.

Step 1
Open the ‘Settings’ Menu

Unlock your phone and click on the ‘Settings’ icon to open the ‘Settings’ menu.

Open ‘Wi-Fi Settings’

In the 'Settings' menu click on the option titled ‘Wi-Fi’.

Open ‘Extra Settings’

On this page you will be able to see the name of the wi-fi network you are connected to. Next to this connection there will be an ‘i’ symbol with a circle around it, click on it.

Step 4
Renew Lease

In the next page, scroll down and click on the option titled ‘Renew Lease’, in the box that appears click the same title again. Now go back to your home screen and restart your device. Once restarted connect it to your wi-fi network and your updates should start downloading automatically.
