If on booting your computer, you see an error message that states the boot configuration data in your PC is missing or has errors don’t panic. Your data can be retrieved successfully provided you perform certain steps. Here are the steps you need to follow on your Windows 10. Before you start, you need to have the windows installation media in a USB drive or DVD.
Insert the USB stick or DVD in your computer and start the media by pressing F12 to access the menu. The keys can however differ based on the model and make of your laptop.
Click on the ‘Next’ option present in the Setup menu of Windows.
Choose ‘Repair your Computer’ option in the page that opens.
Select ‘Troubleshoot’ option as in the picture below.
Next choose the ‘Advanced Option’ under troubleshoot feature.
Under 'Advanced Options' page click ‘Command Prompt’ feature.
In the 'Command Prompt' administrator window, enter the following commands and click on enter key after each command.
Enter ‘A’ to include installation in the boot list and click on enter key.
Exit the 'Command Prompt' window using X button and choose ‘Continue’ option to return to desktop page.
