Acer Predator XR341CK 34" 144Hz Curved Gaming Screen with G-sync

acer_xr341ck.jpg

Acer are set to release a couple of new gaming screens later this year in a large curved 34" size, and 21:9 ultra-wide format. There are apparently going to be two versions offered although we've not got the full spec or clarification of the differences yet. We know one model will be the XR341CK which we believe to have a 3440 x 1440 resolution. There is apparently going to be a 144Hz + G-sync and a non-G-sync option available although we're not sure of the product name differences. We haven't got confirmation of the panel technology being used either yet and product specs are still being finalised. There is suggestion from the information that we've seen that there will be a lower res 2560 x 1080 version as well, but again we're not sure of the details yet. More on these as we get them, but we're sure the thought of a 34" curved ultra-wide screen with 3440 x 1440, 144Hz refresh rate and G-sync is bound to be of interest to a lot of readers. Let's hope that's all true and works out.

These screens are expected to go in to mass production in Q2 2015 so availability is yet to be confirmed. No word on price yet either.

I will get interested if 3440x1440 is confirmed on any g/f-sync monitor.

Someone needs to make it...

Any word on MSRP? Will they undercut the swift?

Acer is really stepping up their panels lately it seems.

My guy says they will be $899. Not sure if he meant globally or USA, he can't understand me and i can't understand him much on phone. lol

However, do not expect to get hands on them easily, they are limited production, with focus on Asia. If you see one online, grab it.

so what's the best 16:10 2560*1600 30" monitor with accurate color out there for the money?

No answers.
I found a little extra information. But that only raises more questions.
I guess I'll have to post my question in a new thread.

Acer Predator XR341CK 34" 144Hz Curved Gaming Screen with G-sync

acer_xr341ck.jpg

This looks nice.

I've had a 30" Dell monitor for like 8 years now and want to upgrade to something nice.

Would this be a downgrade Acer Predator XR341CK 34" from the desktop real estate point of view? I'm used to 2560x1600 and don't want to scale down. In your opinion, how would this new Acer measure up, size wise? I understand that 1440 is smaller than 1600p?

Everyone, I know I have been slow at updating [but there's very good reasons why that happened].

I have a HUGE JUNE 2016 MONITOR LIST UPDATE coming -- keep tuned, guys and gals.

(and not to be specific to guys/gals -- also everyone else, and every monster/creature, and every genderless being, and all robots/androids/cyborgs reading this -- on this planet or otherwise -- no matter which universe or dimension you are from -- all sentinent beings capable of reading and comprehending this message!)...

Update for 2019 ?

i saw a person selling a monitor that was "moddable" the link showed 4k@120hz using dp cables.. wow so cool... i wonder why we dont have more of these as this mod/adapter is YEARS old. I just lean toward giant tv and wondering what other new ones will do above 120hz@1440 or better

There don't seem to be any 120hz 4ks up there.

Perhaps because this thread is ancient?

It needed a display port revision to happen or have a dual link which was super impractical. I think monitors just finally started coming out this spring with the correct connections to even make that possible.

I've had the Acer XB270H for quite some time now and its easy on the eyes. I don't game on it but rather use it for heavy sifting of documents. Mostly the documents are black & white or grayscale, so nothing even remotely like gaming. My eyes were getting slowly damaged by the awful backlighting of the previous Dell 20" LED. Eye doctor suggested a new monitor. I needed a big screen and saw a deal on the Acer. Absolutely big improvement. Next one will be a 4k and try for 32" or bigger, though. That should allow me to put an extra couple of documents up at a time. That would also allow me to dump the second monitor.

be careful when buying IPS panels. got one marketed at 4ms. Real delay is 16ms by default. If you set the response time to extreme it goes up to 4ms, but with backlight bleeding, unplayable. Running at 75hz FHD. I suggest good ol' TN's or OLEDs if you pack the cash
