Mathematical symbols for MS Word:
http://spot.pcc.edu/~ssimonds/thisandthat/msword.htm

This one explains how to access the Greek symbols in OpenOffice.
http://openoffice.blogs.com/op...e/equations/index.html

This one shows how to generate the "greek capital letter pi" in HTML. (Then you could copy it in HTML and paste it in MS Word.)

To find these I Googled everything in italics hereafter (including the quotes): MS Word pi "special character"
