When I lived on a golf course, they used to start mowing between 4:30 and 5:00 in the morning.

Noon, if you live next door to me!!

Seriously, check your local ordinances. Where I live you can't start before 8AM.

on weekends I am reasonably quiet till 11am or so out of consideration for my neighbors who might be enjoying a rare chance to sleep in.

I think 9:00am is even a bit too early but since that's the latest time on your poll that's what I voted for.

I voted for 9 but later is better. The @ss across the street from me thinks 7:30 is okay.

Listen, do it as early as you care to get up and do it, if it isn't an on going thing, I woulnd't have a problem with someone mowing at 6 am, as long as it wasn't like that all the time, also how close together are the houses? In my neighborhood, you can only hear a faint buzzing, not enough to wake anyone up.

I propose a general rule of thumb: the earlier you start, the quicker you should have the job done.

I get up at 4.30a everyday anyway. I would say as early as possible, like as soon as it was day light. Plus, you would avoid the heat that early.

9 am

but since most of your neighbors are 60-80, 6am should be fine as well

the houses aren't real tight, only one is within 25 ft, behind us its about 300+ ft , one side is a church, across the street are the old people

it will be a one time thing, getting up early on saturday to mow the grass isn't on my list of "Good Ideas"

based on the poll and the fact that i will be up late tonight and that i won't be home for the neighbors to complain to for a long enough time that they will have forgotten about it, i am going to shoot for ~7:45 ish or so , or when i get out of bed
