Default Excel 2003 - Installer runs every time I start Excel

This is really annoying me and I do not know why it does this, but the Windows installer always runs when I start Excel. None of the other Office applications do this when I run them so I am not sure what is up with Excel. I would rather not have to re-install Office. However re-installing Excel might be, but I would rather fix it first.

There could be several causes to this problem:
1- Corrupt directory or path in the properties of the shortcut. Make new shortcut from source file:
Excel.exe in Microsoft Office and rename to desktop name.

2- Installer is corrupt. Check with regedit following registry entries:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Co mmon\General\InstallProductID]
@="{00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Co mmon\LanguageResources]

"InstallLanguage"=dword:00000409
"UILanguage"=dword:00000409
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\C ommon\LanguageResources]

"InstallLanguage"=dword:00000409
"UILanguage"=dword:00000409

3- A conflict in settings and application. Open Excel-programme, Tools, Supplements. Uncheck the box of Euro Conversion. Close and re-open.

4-Microsoft also says on this topic in:

Thanks for the reply! It looks like it was a corrupt shortcut on the Start Menu that was causing the problem.
