I constantly wake up with blood in my throat and my mouth is all dry when I wake up (probably meaning i sleep with my mouth open). Anyone know if this is normal or what this is? Thx. The blood leaves a TERRIBLE taste in my mouth every morning.

Um, not normal. I have never ever heard of this...not that I'm a medical doctor, but I think you should see one.

Do you ever get nosebleeds? It could be something as simple as that.

Also sometimes I wake up and because I'm one of those mouth-breathers when I sleep sometimes I split my lip (which gets dry) and wake up with the taste of blood in my mouth.

But see a doctor, especially if you smoke or chew tobacco.

Um...that's never good. You are losing blood every night, therefore making you weaker and weaker when you get up, not to mention that you could be drinking this blood as you sleep (if it is occuring during the night) and that's never good for you. Seek a doctor, he'll probably reccomend you to a specialist

Could be that the air in your room is very dry. Get a humidifer and run it constantly. See if that helps. My brother used to have the same problem and the humidifer worked wonders.

If you do not regularly floss your teeth, try that. If you bleed then, you might have gum disease. If you are grinding your teeth while you sleep, you might have bleeding gums. The other likely culprit is dry air and cracked nasal passages.

Probably from the nose bleed, do you have any kind of humidifier running? That might help, also seeing the doc is not a bad idea since you have the problem a lot.

Oh come one, your body can produce a pint of blood every 2 weeks (effortlessly). Do you have any idea how much a pint is? A little blood every night isn't going to hurt your blood supply. I would also like to point out that swallowing blood isn't going to hurt you unless its not your blood and it's infected with some disease. What do you think gravy is? Take a trip to europe sometime and have a little blood pudding.

So now we have three options plus one I'll add here:

1. Dry air = nose bleeds.
2. Bad Gums
3. Leukemia
4. Haemophelia

4 is unlikely as it would have been diagnosed when you were a kid.
1 is a minor thing, but you need to get a humidifier
2&3 are both pretty serious and require immediate attention.

You need to see a doctor.

Now that all the doctors here on AT have given their opinions, maybe you should ignore it all except that you should go see a doctor.

Try the cold air humidifier. Lots of people have problems from too dry air (and never know why), and suffer various maladies from bleeding knuckles to sore throats leading to worse, to bleeding noses.

You'll know the first night if that's it. And they are not expensive.
Keep it clean. Go ye now and bleed no more.
