Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?
Anyone else get they replacement board yet? Still waiting on mine. But with ground shipping being about 4-5 days, I probably won't see it until middle next week.

Hello Mr Kell,
Do not expect to see many more going for a replacement. Our board was somewhat of a ?limited edition? and there are people that have/had no problems with it. Most of them, especially those with 1066 QX procs, will choose to stick with a well working full featured board rather than going ahead with a replacement. For most of them it makes no sense to tear apart their rigs just to get a new board with less features that may present them with problems they never had in the first place.
I believe that by now GB should have received more than 90% of the total volume of boards to be replaced so IMHO this is more or less over.

Well, mine just showed up today I actually wasn't expecting it until next week (as you can see from my previous post). Looks like I get to spend the weekend rebuilding the system.

Only people that are getting resolution are the ones that settled for the lesser X48 board. The SLI people like myself are still waiting I'm sure. I asked for a rebuilt 680 to replace mine. I asked for the board to be sent me before I send mine to them. I believe this is fair, EVGA offered me this without asking when I got a bad board from them. They sent me a new one with all I needed to cover shipping back to them. I do not want to deal with the downtime of sending them the board and waiting for them to repair it and send it back. They have plenty of your boards that they could fix and test now. Also still no word on people that want the 790, as that is also an option I would consider down the road, but not hearing anything on this option makes me feel they are going to hope it fades away.
I talked to Chuck on the 18th of April and also sent a follow up E-mail of my request as he requested and still am waiting for their responce. I will keep the forum updated if I hear any more. I updated to the Q6600 CPU and will live with that till then, or I find another board the meets or betters this board.

I am back to the instability and unreliability problems that have plagued me from the beginning. In addition to the periodic blue screens and inability to boot I now have a new problem. It will not shut down. I get to the "Windows is shutting down" screen an the system just hangs. It does not do it every time, but will ALWAYS do it after playing Crysis. I have tried cleaning up the task list and have eleminated/fixed all problem devices and drivers. I am using BIOS F5E. Anyone have any hints?

While this is all well and good for some, there is still people like me who went SLi with this board, so the replacement offered is of little use.
I am aware that there is no support for the 45nm Quads, however I haven't been able to get a clear answer on whether or not the 8*** series Dual Cores have support. I'm in the market for a new CPU to replace my ancient Q6600 B3 and I just assumed that the 45nm dual cores would be supported.

I have been getting a consistant error message in the logs on boot up:
The NVR0FLASHDev service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
I googled this and unistalled this device from the "hidden devices". It keeps comming back.
Please let me know if any further information would help.
Torcher,
I am not absolutely sure, but I seem to recall that the 45nm dual cores are ok. You should probably wait for confirmation from someone that own one though.

Hello Mr Torcher and welcome aboard.
According to GB's site our board does not support any of the 45nm Dual Cores. This goes for both revisions of our board.
@ mjrtoo,
glad to hear that you are getting your replacement. Please let us know how you're doing once you get your hands on that brand-new shining box.
@ The Kapt'n,
I'm looking into this "hidden" device thing. From what I can recall there was a utility that would let you uninstall any "hidden" device. I'll get back to you as soon as I have something to report on this.

Mr. jaggerwild,
I did use their shipping and it only took it 4 business days to arrive from Texas. They have had it for a couple of days now and I have not heard from them. The turnaround time was what I was curious about, but hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow.

I didn't hear back from them until the day before my new board arrived (it was shipped 2 days prior). I wouldn't really expect to hear from them to be honest. I will simply say it seems to be about 2-3 days after they get your board that they have been shipping out the replacement. I think mine shipped 2 days after they received it. My replacement was sent 3 day, so all told it took 5 business days from when they got mine until when I had the replacement. I think that is about as good as it gets without a cross shipment option.

I didn't hear from them, I emailed Chuck a couple days after I saw my mobo was received and he emailed back immediatly with my tracking number for the X48 which was sent the same day they received mine.

Hello Kapt'n,
I'm not sure whether the following could be of any help but here we go.
The utility that I was talking about is HPSysDig.exe (Hewlett Packard Diagnostics). You can use it to delete old devices that have been removed from your system but traces are still present in the registry.
I've been also looking at the NVR0FLASHDev message. I suggest that you re-install your chipset and graphics drivers. You should also install nVidia's ntune utility as this may also have something to do with your problem.

Hello Gentlemen, (Ladies?)
Still waiting on GB to come out with the 790 board as I went sli with this board. It would sure be nice to hear whether or not they are going to work a deal with us in that regard. After checking out the Egg it looks like DDR3 memory in the 2x2GB range is almost at an acceptable price 330 for the OCZ pair I'm looking at. I'm just wondering whether I'm shooting myself in the foot by waiting or not. Can we get some feedback as to what the deal is for those of us that went sli is? Colin?
Good Day,
Sterman

Sup all, long time no see. Work has me a busy boy. I am one of the few that have stuck with the 680I simply because of two reasons. One I have not had the time to get a new board and second I have just plain lost all trust in Gigabyte, even though I do give them credit for trying to resolve this 680I mess, my next board will not be a Gigabyte even if that is a free trade in. Just buying time waiting for my next purchase, really doing much research before I by another board.

Well Gents/Ladies,
I have taken the plunge and e-mailed Mr. Leo with my serial number and picture of my receipt. I figure the best way to find out whether or not the 790i board is going to be an option is to open a direct dialog. Plus I figured now is not the time to be lazy *grins at cdfire* if you want to unload this board and take a chance at something that will perform as advertised. I'll keep you posted as I get more information.
Laterz,
Sterman

Blazer7,
Indeed NVR0FLASHDev IS a part of nTune. Apparently nTune was not done playing with me (even after I uninstalled it). I killed it in my registry. I'll see here in a few minutes if I can shut down.

Good morning all!
Nturd i mean tune, will screw up an install PERIOD!!!!!! Remove it and never look back to it!!!!!
Nothing but head aches for it's users as Nvidia does not update it for newer systems, they have abandoned it now cause of the new "intune" with a different name but we shall see if they support it now.
Regards all !
