I've never had any problems with the computer locking up in these forums on WinME or Win2k...

Doesn't happen to me.

Happens when I go to Total.net though. Freezes my computer completely sometimes right away sometimes after a while of browsing. It just happens, no lag or anything, just freezes.

I don't know if this will help, but I had a PC that would hang on certain sites just like yours. It was a real pain. I tried switching the video settings, updating the browser, disconnecting the sound card, etc. and didn't do any good. Sometimes the sites were fine, but if there was a particular ad it would kill everything. Otherwise the machine was fine. Then one day I swapped some ram dimms and put a higher quality (100mhz cas2 micron) in even though I was running it at 66 and the same ram from that machine that would hang worked fine on other machines at 66 cas2. The machine has been rock solid ever since.

I have gotten error messages from the forums sometimes. I have never had it lock up either my browser or my machine. I have hit the Netscape bug where clicking on links stops working while browsing the forums requiring either switching to IE or rebooting.

Russ, give Mozilla M18 a try under Xfree 4.0. Things look much better.
