Ugly and overpriced. I would only buy a shirt from them if I was gay or a big fat party animal.

I bought one early this summer in that style although I don't see it there. It was on sale and Macy's was running a special with an additional 25% off. I think I picked it up for $68 IIRC.

It's my favorite shirt. I hate to see the weather turning because I won't be able to wear it. You've got to be careful with silk though.

I second this. And add "and if I had a shit-ton of money burning a whole in my pocket."

Meh...a bunch of no taste clods in the thread I see...

I own a few Tommy Bahama t-shirts. Hands down, the nicest t-shirts I own. Soft comfortable material, very well made, great fit...

I've owned a couple of their "aloha" shirts over the years. Same thing...VERY well made of great quality material.

I have a closet full of aloha shirts...and wear one EVERY Friday...and have for about 20 years.

Some are better quality than the Tommy's, some are cheaper than hell, (bought for wearing on construction jobs...cheap so if I fucked them up, it didn't really matter) and most were in the $30 to $50 range. NONE were made in China, MOST are Hawaiian made, but a couple are from the Philippines.

exactly...just as they should be.

These are not generally for wear to the office...they're for vacation, for golfing, for relaxing times, and the louder and cheesier, the better.
Why pay top dollar for cheesy? If youre going to spend that much money, how about some classy RL or lacoste polos rather than some ridiculous hawaiian shirt? I dont see the value of spending $100 to look like a clown

Polo shirts? WTF? Classy? Are you out of your fucking mind? Polo shirts are anything but classy...some are ok for casual wear, but they ain't classy...

Some people look like clowns no matter what they wear...corporate clowns are still clowns.

If you don't get the attraction to loud cheesy shirts...you don't get it. Stay in your old, tired garb. Leave the bright, fashionable shirts to those of us who DO get it.

(if you think $100 is expensive for a quality shirt, you must do your shopping at WalMart.)

A polo is for sure classier than a hawaiian shirt for casual wear. Is my sarcasm meter broken here?

Hit the nail right on the head. Tommy Bahama is for old retired men who want to look cool.

isn't the gay stereotype that we have fashion sense, not the other way around?

Actually, QUALITY Hawaiian shirts will be better made and of better material than 99% of the polo shirts. The loud brightly colored ones are FUN to wear, but not all Hawaiian shirts are gaudy. Many are made of solid colors, perhaps of silk or rayon, and even cotton, some with nicely textured fabric...

I LIKE the brightly colored gaudy ones myself...and it usually doesn't matter where I'm going on Fridays...I wear an aloha shirt. If we're in the islands, I have one on every day...

Same reason why you'd want to spend $200 on Diesel jeans, or $250 on a plain athletic shoe.

It was a Simpson's reference:

There's only two kinds of guys who wear those shirts: gay guys and big, fat party animals, and Bart doesn't look like a big, fat party animal to me!
