It's expensive as hell, but you won't look like a douche carrying it, and it'll last the rest of your life. Pants with pockets really are better though. Here's my typical load out for a weekend out, no bag carried...
3 knives
keychain sized folding pliers
keys
3 tins of snus, and another snus tin with my IceTool in it
4 tins of snuff
cell phone
wallet
coins

Woah dude you are seriously gay. That is a purse.
|
No it isn't. It's a rock solid bag that gets better looking as it ages and gets dirty. Purses don't use oil cloth and bridle leather ;^)

I've seen those over at Staples and most of them are pretty nice.

Jack Bauer would disagree with you. And then you would be no more.

check out the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. i use it on my commute to manhattan often enough or for a weekend out and about in the apple.
i find it a great man-bag when you want to carry a small load out. it looks tough, and is supertough, but can also work in an urban environment and still look stylish. i usually use this when i want to have my kindle, flashlight, leatherman, a charger, small camera, extra battery, water bottle, zune, and a few other things.
when i need to carry more i use my tom bihn super ego.
i find a sling bag to be very convenient for easy access to things vs a backpack.
when i want a backpack i use a think tank shapeshifter that also doubles as a great camera bag when expanded. when compressed, it is a great man-bag with a super slim profile great for subways and crowded urban environments.

I'm not mocking you, I'm just surprised that there are pants/shorts which don't have pockets (except for like hard-core athletic gear). I'd try and get these shorts you like with pockets.
