Default How long do tires last?

I've seen tires with 40,000 and even 80,000 mile warranties. But I've been told that tires only last about 20,000 miles.

How long do they normally last?

Depends on alot factors, proper inflation, alignment, rotating, the rating of the tires, usage, speed and road conditions but normally tires can make it around 30 to 50 thousand miles with proper care and maintenance.

It depends on the car, the way you drive and the treadwear rating on the particular tire.

I got 63K off of a set Of Goodyear Triple Treads on a 2000 Accord. They were rated for 65K miles....

Until they wear out.

Good. So I'm not crazy. I knew I had put significantly more miles than 20k on tires before.

Stock Bridgestone Turdanzas lasted less than 25k miles before the noise became unbearable at highway speeds and I had 0 wet traction. Been on Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals for 30k+ now, I'd say they have another 10k in them.

This is exactly correct.

High-performance summer-only tires will not last as long as moderate-performance all-season tires. I will probably only get 20,000 to 25,000 miles out of the tires on my 951, but those are summer-only tires and I knew when I bought them that they would not last long. The all-season tires on my Volvo should last about 60,000 miles even though they're "performance" all-seasons. A set of generic "all-season" tires with no performance aspirations at all may last as long as 80,000 miles.

Regardless of mileage though, tires should be replaced after 6-7 years as the rubber degrades and hardens which reduces grip, especially in wet and cold, so even if the tread isn't worn down, you should still replace tires when they reach about that age.

I get about 4000 miles from Pirelli P-Zero Corsa, and 5000 miles from Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. I think Hoosiers will probably run about 2000 miles...

I had a set of tires on my Dakota for 75,000 miles and they weren't completely worn out. But I've also had tires wear out by 30,000 miles. Depends on lots of factors.

That's pretty good since they don't even come with a warranty.

Yeah, I'm quite happy with the lifespan. It's about when they heat cycle out anyway. Next up, gotta try the BF Goodrich R1 or the Toyo/Nitto sisters (R888 or NT01).

depends on lots of things. if you see a 80K warrenty, expect atleast 60K. If you get below that, use the warrenty.

If you only get 15K out of tires, the I would suspect that those people are buying summer tires and drive very aggressive.

not as bad as driving Eagle RSA tires with barely any tread left.

I buy summer tires but I get lots of miles out of them. I like having the grip available when I want it but lets be honest, its not used to full potential on a daily basis.

I think my Yoko AVS ES100's went about 35k before I got sick of the road noise. My current set of Yoko AVS Sports have more than 20k on them and they're maybe half gone. I'm curious how long the Advan S.4s I put on my gf's car will last. They also seem to have excellent cornering abilities.

Obviously grip and tire life are inversely proportional
